Pro-R is cool but I prefer TB Reverb as an all-rounder. Crystalline is a beautiful reverb with rhymic-based reverb tails if you wish or a regular taper if you wish as well as shimmer effects.
Taip and BA-1 are must-buys in my opinion.
Dang i need to check out that TB verb then. I have kleverb which has a great ducker but sounds too metallic and tin-y in most cases…blackhole and alteza shimmers,..along with about 80% of all the other iOS reverbs 🤣 so I’m just not sure i need another one yet. But then again i also have other tape emulators and synths.. so 🫣 I’ll probably end up with crystalline at some point just because. I’m not sure it has much more to offer than the others yet but it looks awesome and BA is great company to support
Does this mean that you can't share presets between iPad and desktop versions? I was ready to get both..
Correct. Unless they fix it in an upcoming patch.
Does the ios version have the routing/ducking features like the desktop?
How heavy is the cpu hit for taip? The ai part intrigues me, was that done with a hardware capture and machine learning?
CPU is like Chow Tape more or less. I've posted the amounts of some tape plugins in the Taip thread when it was released.
Hey everyone, BA-1 v1.5 is now live on the App Store! Grab this great update and let us know what you think![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Looking good so far. One issue I found straight away, is that touching the user pack does not take the list to the user section of the list, it goes to one of the other packs instead. Also the scroll bar don’t seem to work, or are very difficult to use with fingers (if they are meant to work that way). The scrolling by the list and the packs is working though, so maybe the bar are not scroll bars at all lol.
I would like to have a favorite group, where I can also select those I have marked as favorites with midi (program change)
it would also be nice if the imported presets were stored in their own folders instead of being put together in Users.
@tristan
Does BA have a patch randomizer?
That’s a feature I’m always happy to see. Great for building your own patches or tweaking around to see what you get.
I really been wanting BA for a long while and I’m planning on pulling the trigger before the sale ends… so a couple quick questions.
Relatively speaking, how is it on CPU/DSP?
Is it mono or polyphonic or both?
Just saw it has a Re-Gen button to create new presets. Also the video shows it’s polyphonic…
just one question remains, Relatively speaking, How is BA on CPU/DSP?
3 of them running in AUM take up 40% of my DSP on a 12 Pro Max
Yeah something is not right here. I had created a directory with a name and that's now just 'User'. On export it does not create a pack (like it says) but export all files separate. A pack would have been nice and to import that pack with it's own place and name. I'll try to experiment some more with import/export see what gives.
So the 1.5 update is not a mirror to the desktop version where you can create packs, yeah in fact to use your iPad presets on the desktop version, it needs to be packed which you can't do as you can't even create a separate directory (from the default User). Is this something that's coming @tristan
Edit: On desktop you don't seem to be able to export single presets, only packs (xx.zbaby). A bit strange approach and a petty they (Mac/iPad) can't be exactly the same, for whatever reason.
I can’t find BA1 FXStrip?!

Edit: It looks like we got a limited update, I hope it’s just postponed because of technical difficulties.
Great to know. Should be great on the iPhone but iPad is getting up there in age.
If you had to give it a number from 1-10, comparing it to other apps you use, where would you place it? 1 being super low cpu and 10 being massive pull where would you place it? Sounds like somewhere n the middle…
About a 7, reasonably hungry…
Someone else with the following problems?
When I initialise a patch with the top right button, there is a delay added and the corresponding faders don’t do anything
Browsing through the presets, it sometimes stays on monophonic or poly when the patch should clearly be the opposite
This is when using it as an AUv3, it all seems fine in the standalone
Edit: second issue works now
It seems that situation (buy right before a sale) is almost like a rite of passage for iOS music makers.
Thanks. Sorry last question. In regards to your response… Even if using just one instance in a session?
One instance hits 30% but then I can run 3 at 40%. It does sound really good though, Baby Audio knows what they’re doing in that department. Could it be better optimised? Maybe a bit, but you feel like you’re getting something quite special for all that processor usage. Worth buying and refunding if the crackling’s unbearable.
Thanks for the help, yea the sound is what basically has me sold.
Also, quick side note, the way Apple devices work is there is a cpu threshold, so if you just have one synth in a host it will only use minimum amount of cores necessary but once you cross the cpu threshold (not exactly sure where the line is) the other CPU’s kick in to help handle the workload. Cheers mate.
Anyone know if the preset packs for BA-1 is also working on IOS?
this one https://babyaud.io/ba1-expansion-packs:
Yes, you can buy the pack in your web browser and then import on iOS (you don't need to own the desktop version of BA-1).
The sale got me lol. Ba1 and crystalline consumed
You can. Huh. Cool.
One more quick thing before I grab it…
Are the all parameters exposed for further modulation in AUM? I watched many video's, read description, and didn’t see it mentioned anywhere.thanks.
Found a couple free BA packs, not sure if they included in the app or not.
