Definitely, glitched waves has 3 free packs on their site. I also saw a pack of 25 patches from coolwav but the site is not secure.

Quick question, does BA have its parameters exposed for midi mapping, and using external LFOs to modulate it?

Yes, it does. Here are all the parameters I am able to automate in Logic:

  • Thank you @bluegroove Today is the day. Already downloaded a bunch of free patches. Super pumped. Cheers.

You are very welcome @Poppadocrock and thanks again for the heads up on the free packs. BA-1 truly is a lovely synth. Enjoy.

ok, I have found - 19th of may

  • Dope.

Have you, or anyone, successfully loaded any yet. And do the zip work, or the unzipped folder, or you gotta go one by one. I tried once, didn’t work, so I gave up, will try again soon. Wondering if anyone knows the proper preset pack import process? Do the imported patches show up under user? Or can they have their own folder.

BTW - I’m loving BA-1 so far. it sounds great, it’s easy to use, and has just the right amount of quirk, ie Battery, Chaos, etc.. it’s not as heavy on cpu as I anticipated either. It’s really looks and sounds great. The regen button creates some good patches. It’s only been a few days but I really like it so far.

To load all presets, you must first select a preset and then “select all”. Unfortunately, the presets all end up in the user folder, in my case about 1000, more than confusing.

  • This is also how the import works:

    • unzip the file
    • select all presets and rezip (without folder, only the presets)
    • rename the file extension from xy.zip to xy.zbaby
    • import your .zbaby bank

now we just have to wait for an update so that the imported banks get their own folder and are not all in the user folder.

  • Dangit, I missed the sale. It’s still the 18th where I live 😆😂

Missed it too…procrastinated just a little too long! 😅

  • Yeah, I missed it, too. It was still the 18th where I am but no luck. I was looking at BA-1 which I kind of want for reasons I don't know. I tried the desktop demo, it's a nice synth but not something I really need. So I guess missing the sale is a blessing in disguise for me, it gives me a chance to put that money back in my pocket where it should stay.

That’s my story too, exactly. The Yamaha CS-01 was my first synth; it would be fun to have a closely-inspired version on my iPad, but I sure don’t need it. I have way too many synth apps as it is 😆

So does this 2nd method have any advantages over the first method you mentioned?

No advantages, just another way to import presets. However, this may change after an update and a .zbaby bank will have its own entry in the preset list
