I would like to say goodbay and thank you
Dear all,
After years spending everyday quite a lot of times, I would like to say thank you for all help and support. Especially @wim @rs2000 @uncledave @auxmux and few more nice people which I not listed here.
I decided to delete my account.
Have a great time with your passions, play nice music, and keep healthy.
With love,
szczyp

You will be missed. All the best to you!
Take it easy mate. Wish you could stay, but I understand. Best of luck with your future endeavors.
Take care, we wish you nothing but the best. Cheers @szczyp
Oh wow, would you mind sharing with us what your new paths are?
And if I may ask you one thing then it is to keep past conversations intact for us by not deleting your posts when you delete your account.
Thanks and thanks for all the friendly communication @szczyp, gonna miss them!
May the road ahead be filled with greatness!
Wishing you all the best on your journey ahead. Take care, szczyp.
Also I want to know what your new paths are?
Good luck brother, and I hope you come back one day!
Always sad to see people with passion for mobile music creation vanish, leave, or just fade away… Sad…
I thought about it today when I realize that @White have been away and invisible for 14 month - mr White was often first person to post about new cool apps - wonder why he’s not here anymore?
I’m wondering why people delete their account? Why it is better than just simply not reading the forum?
I always wondered too.
Don’t do this, just delete bookmarks and take vacation from ABF. I’m pretty much sure you will need help from @rs2000 or another one listed.
Anyway, good luck, and take care! 🫡
Have fun!
I think it's the same reason people delete their social media accounts - to resist the temptation of logging on again. Then again, @szczyp is one of the good ones here, so he'll definitely be missed.
Please don’t do this to the forum:
I mean what kind of legacy is that? It’s not really a “Thank You” gesture.
Just have someone you trust change your password. Then you can’t write as
yourself unless you ask for the password.
You can always read the forum as a deleted entity or as a dormant user but I’m guessing
you want some of your time back. The forum is addicting and the drug it serves up is
some form of brain chemical we tend to crave… I think of it as focused attention but still
manage our productive use of time is a key to a good life.
Out of all the horrible places on the inter webs this is the last place I’d log out of because aside from a few “butt hurt” or misunderstood moments this place is positively helpful and NOT horrible.
I mean look at ex twitter
@McD with all due respect, what if @szczyp doesn't wish to "leave a legacy"? I will miss him too though, so I get it mate.
@audiblevideo Twitter/X sucks lol. 😂 Haven't used that dumpster fire in years. As far as music forums go, this one is the best and nicest I've ever come across.
Every discussion thread @szczyp created will be wiped clean… so.no question but many comments of replies. I think the title also gets wiped so searching for “ Audio to MIDI on Vocal” won’t find the excellent thread:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/51065/audio-to-midi-on-vocal-tested-midi-guitar-2-a2m-and-conversion-is-not-so-stable#latest
It’s just a bad way to say goodbye.
Of course, deleting an account may not work as I’m thinking it does in which case… never mind. G’day to you, sir.
Maybe @szczyp can ask to be banned instead so the threads remain intact.
I’ll bet he’s (assuming gender here) sorry he brought it up at all.
We shall see if there is a followup reply here.
@McD : One can ask the mods to delete the account without deleting posts or threads
That’s great. Thanks for providing some expertise.
I wish ABF didn’t offer this delete “feature”. The vast majority of online forums don’t offer it, and as far as I can tell nobody misses it when it’s not there.
It's a pity the person's name can't be deleted from posts, including replies to posts, without deleting their actual comments. That would give some privacy without wrecking the flow of old threads.
@szczyp I guess it's your call, good luck to you either way 🙏
Sorry to hear that @szczyp. All the best to you.
Leave if you feel the need to leave and I wish you the best of luck but please don’t delete your account.
I can understand deleting an account, as I did delete my first account here. As far as I remember, what I wrote is still here, so I don’t know if that has changed.
For those that have asked why delete and not ignore, I will give one reason, but I am in no way commenting on why the OP is / has deleted, because I don’t know anything about him / her.
For myself, I deleted because the cost of coming here at the time was not helpful to my health (which was poor) but the lure of coming in for a chat with friends was too difficult to resist. At the time I made a lot of friends here, many of whom I would speak to away from the site itself. Over time though a few people became a regular annoyance. It was not the fact that they disagreed with my points of view, it was that their comments on my POV would become so regular that it felt creepy. I understand that when we post anything online it is open to someone disagreeing, but there is a difference between someone disagreeing with an ideal, and when someone gets more personal or just continues pushing when it’s obvious that no agreement will ever be found.
So, why just not ignore? Well, life is different for people. You can’t judge how someone can cope with something or know what is best for them when you know little about them. We change often in life and our situations change too. At the time I deleted, I was getting used to my new life after losing my career due to ill health. I have now adjusted to my new life and hence have much stronger mental health - I now find it incredibly easy to ignore people and really don’t care what people say online. I can come here if I have the time, but don’t feel any loss if I am not here for a while.
Yeah, I can understand that if a deletion may ruin some old posts, that can be seen as unfortunate, but personally I don’t think that is anywhere near as important as an individual looking after their own health or needs.
As always, just my opinion and no bearing on anyone else’s opinions here.
This right here. 💯 Couldn't have said it better myself.
@Fruitbat1919
wise words.
