AudioStretch was FREE a long time ago...

  • AudioStretch 3.7 just released. It fixes the crash issue in 3.6 with iPads running iOS 7. Nonetheless, I highly recommend that you update to iOS 8 if you're using an iPad and want to run AudioStretch.

iOS 7 has no support for the iOS8-only Document Picker API, which means that if you're using iOS 7, in AudioStretch you won't get import/export functionality with AudioShare, Dropbox, iCloud, and OneDrive. You can still use "Open In" to open files from those apps, but you won't be able to open files from AudioShare/iCloud/etc directly in AudioStretch. Also, without Document Picker support, exporting from AudioStretch is only via email.

What's more, support iOS 7 is increasingly difficult for developers, due to various technical reasons (e.g. difficulty in finding test devices that haven't already been updated to iOS 8, lack of support for iOS 7 in Apple's Testflight beta distribution platform, etc.). And given 75% of App Store customers are already running iOS 8, and that the only device that can run iOS 7 and not iOS 8 is the iPhone 4 (already considered an "old" device, at least by my teenage daughter!), there's less and less reason for developers to support iOS 7. I will quite likely drop support for iOS 7 in the not-too-distant future.

  • Appreciate the effort, the app, and the honesty.

I don't think the reason for not upgrading is necessarily due to whether or not their device supports the latest iOS, but rather fears of compatibility issues, bugs and for users with only 16gb - lack of disk space.

I've personally held off due to the large amount of issues reported, even on here, with ios8, issues as a 7x user I havent suffered from. Once the bugs are fixed I'll probably upgrade but until then any developer withholding features, not supporting my device or iOS won't get my money.

  • Hi Gerry, I would like to request zoom ability on the waveform.

  • What a cruel thread to bump! Looks like we only missed the sale by 2 years.

  • I was an unwitting accomplice. DON'T SHOOT!!!
