You win the thread.
+1 👍 😂
We all win with Mr Arthur Fonzarelli!
Pretty impressed that an american just like you was aware of this painting!
Here in northern Europe the artist is a legend, but, had zero clue that he was internationally known!
Skriet of Edward Munch.
That’s kind of a weird thing to say.
It’s almost like saying “oh the mona lisa I’m totally surprised you americans know about it”.
There’s a freaking emoji based on the painting, of course they know about it, uncultured as they are (sorry Johnny boy just kidding😂)
You do understand that I've studied some art history on the side ages ago long before "Skriet" "became an emoji"? 🤣 Right, I've also a few longstanding friends from the European continent since the 2000s, which prompted me to deepen my knowledge beyond "Murica".
Not all of us here are narrowminded hicks, but I won't lie. It's pretty tough to live in a country where over half the population couldn't even pinpoint France on a map. Bloody hell, they can't even pinpoint which US State is which on a map of "Murica". This country's reputation in the European Continent certainly precedes it. 🤣
In many ways I feel blessed to be a "city boy". More variety of people to meet than out in the countryside. More variety of points of view to consider as well.
I’m willing to bet @HolyMoses can’t name a single other Munch’s painting without googling
100€
Makes a big difference in the US, as there are definitely some very isolated people in rural America. Some years ago my boss had to visit a distribution center somewhere outside of Knoxville, TN, and his accent drew the attention of a group of women who worked there. One of them asked where he was from and he said, “The UK”. She responded that he spoke really good English for someone who isn’t from America…
Oh geez. 🙄 😂 What an embarrassment to the US. And "Muricans" wonder why they get a bad rep overseas.
I remember "Madonna" because female nudity. 😉 There are also "Vampire", "Ploughing Horses", and "The Sick Child". Sorry I can't remember more off the top of my head. Now pay up. 🤣
There’s nothing wrong, with ignorance in it’s innocent form, regardless of the circles we move, we all share a common set of values, loves, needs and aspirations.
You know I was just joking around, right? That I wasn't actually being serious?
