Ringotron by quantovox (Released)
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ringotron/id6474263444
Ringotron allows taming the strong transformational effects of traditional ring modulation, opening up a wider range of possibilities in sound design and audio FX.
Its multi-band design enables fine control over which parts of the spectrum will be transformed by the effect. A special soft mode is available that borrows concepts from feedback modeling, which can be used to reduce intermodulation effects that are often a limiting factor in the more general applicability of ring modulators.
In addition to the layers of control they provide, combination of these core features also allows the plugin to act as a stereo, multi-peak resonant filter that can also smoothly morph into a ring modulator.
FEATURES:
• 2 parallel ring modulator units (max. modulator frequency: 8 kHz)
• Stereo separation can be added to band center, mod. frequency, mod. phase
• Ultra-narrow bands can be used to create highly resonant sounds
• 4 large ribbon controls for band center and modulator frequencies
• Band center frequencies can be modulated by the built-in modulation system
• Tempo syncing can be independently configured for each oscillator
• Built-in soft limiter and clipper to protect against volume spikes
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The plugin comes with a zero-latency, non-brickwall soft limiter, and as such, its stopping power is limited. Make sure to always leave enough headroom or use an external brickwall limiter for total protection against powerful transients.
Alternatively, a built-in soft clipper is also available.
PLEASE NOTE:
• AUv3-compatible host app is required
• Suported sampling rates: 44.1, 48, 96 kHz

the most interesting and deep ring mod I've ever used! Bigups Zoltan and team. fab plug!
Absolutely agree, this is fascinating and very musical, I have both the zvex super ringtone and the ehx ring thing, and this compares well with the expensive hardware
interesting.
wonder why spatializr is the only app by quantovox that is compatible with mac.

This is a clip of my silent tweaking demo of 27 selected presets. The full 8 min vid is on my YouTube channel! Also a quick heads up that I have a demo of the new Kai Aras app up on my Patreon. If you have benefitted from my work over the years and can afford to support me there, for only around the cost of a beer a month, come join, I’d massively appreciate it 🙏
Congratulations to @quantovox on this release. The thing sounds amazing!
Sounds amazing @quantovox. Is the price an introductory offer?
It sounds really good! And got a lot of great presets. But have anyone managed to find a manual for it?
(Not all functionality is clear to me, and I’d love to know how things work rather than tweaking randomly.)

Hey, we're not too big on intro offers, nor did we have any discounts on anything released since 2022, not even on black friday.
It creates a pressure that's disrespectful to customers, and leads to buying apps that you won't be using (FOMO) or making poor budgetary decisions - plus it's a shoddy way to treat people who paid full price. Though ultimately this statement may not age too well, as it's going a bit against the grain.
There is only one legitimate case for such offers, and we hope that replacing that with a better mechanic can be the subject of a healthy discussion at one point in the future.
So long story short, feel free take your time and watch upcoming demos, reviews and read first-hand user accounts here or on other forums, and make a purchase decision at your leisure any time of the year.
Finally a pretext to use this graphic we've prepared during the iOS AUv3 award season
Can I turn dials via touch or do I have to always enter a value manually using numbers?
Yes, you probably have the numerical entry button engaged. It's a toggle, and once you turn it off, you'll be able to turn the dials. It should stand out with a bright color in the lower right area.
For this price is a steal. I’m using this on RingsFX, no pun intended, getting every sort of nice accidents!
Thanks @quantovox I now have dials I can turn! Sounds great so far.
Thank you Gav. I always appreciated your silent walk throughs. I was more than two minutes into the other video and had forgotten what I was even there for 😂
All explained in my video.
Thanks for clarifying @quantovox, really appreciate it and yes, that’s precisely why i was asking: so I could know whether i was pressured to buy the app as soon as possible or could take my time. Having watched a few videos of it in action now i don’t think there’s any question now that i will be purchasing; sounds amazing! Congratulations on the release.
I approve of this message.
As much of a sugar-rush one can get from taking advantage of a deeply discounted app, I think the efforts devs must expend to game that system successfully could be put by them to better, more creative use. I also think everybody would be happier if periodic discounts or introductory pricing hadn’t become the default model. But it has, and I don’t believe that could change now without massive casualties sustained by both sides. Even in my own case people say there was a time when after a few drinks I would start accusing every discount-dissenter of secretly wanting to usher in a dystopian world of universal subscription.

Congratulations on the fantastic new app! 🤩 I bought it, and it will be used for sure.
BTW, can I submit a missing feature? There are no manuals. Please, can you include them at least on the official site? Like FAC does for his products. Just a reference for the controls. 👍
+1 to this! :-)
Thanks! I’ll give it a look. :-) But I still really hope for a written manual, as that is so much better for reference.

Oh, perfect! Thanks! ❤️
Just pointing out that the link to the manual is in the standalone app, button labelled User Guide. Though I agree it would be useful to have a link in the AUv3 or easy location on the web site.
Oh, haha, how did you find the link? Thanks! 👍
This is true, and why would anyone use ring modulation as a standalone app? There is nothing on the official site.🤔 This omission is just wasting our time. Sorry, John.
Agreed on adding a navigable link on the website.
Definitely wanted to include it in the AU itself as well, but Apple only allows that sort of launching behavior for a single AppEx type, called the Today Extension.
A major-brand developer managed to do this in their apps, so it's technically possible (unless it will be patched in an iOS update), but risking an app review rejection is perhaps not the best way to go at this.
Will be looking into this a bit more, there are different options.
Nevertheless, interesting point of feedback regarding not opening the main app at all upon downloading the app. This hasn't surfaced ever since we've been releasing AUv3's, but it clearly needs to be given more consideration when deciding what to put into the main app.
I wouldn't be happier.
And I don't think "everybody" would be either.
One of the most popular threads on the Forum is the sales thread (340.8K views in 6 months).
People like sales.
There are a lot of apps that I have bought on sale but would not have bought at full price - so the developer gets some $$$s from me instead of no $$$s.
Thank you! 🤗 A visible link on the official product page will be more than enough.
I stopped doing this for the FX AUv3 more than a year ago, I never had a single issue. And I’m probably not alone. So you are most likely safe regarding consideration.
I would have to agree with this sentiment. I look at my app purchases like investments, that I can profit from eventually, once I learn it, and can provide some content or design a bank with it. And if I can get them on discount great! We’re they the apps I had intended on purchasing had there not been a sale? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean I can’t use them or design in them. I often pull the trigger on apps I otherwise would have overlooked thanks to sales, and am super thankful for them. I check the sales thread daily
