Just pointing out that the link to the manual is in the standalone app, button labelled User Guide. Though I agree it would be useful to have a link in the AUv3 or easy location on the web site.

This is true, and why would anyone use ring modulation as a standalone app? There is nothing on the official site.🤔 This omission is just wasting our time. Sorry, John.

Agreed on adding a navigable link on the website.

Thank you! 🤗 A visible link on the official product page will be more than enough.

Definitely wanted to include it in the AU itself as well, but Apple only allows that sort of launching behavior for a single AppEx type, called the Today Extension.

A major-brand developer managed to do this in their apps, so it's technically possible (unless it will be patched in an iOS update), but risking an app review rejection is perhaps not the best way to go at this.

Will be looking into this a bit more, there are different options.

Nevertheless, interesting point of feedback regarding not opening the main app at all upon downloading the app. This hasn't surfaced ever since we've been releasing AUv3's, but it clearly needs to be given more consideration when deciding what to put into the main app.

I stopped doing this for the FX AUv3 more than a year ago, I never had a single issue. And I’m probably not alone. ;) So you are most likely safe regarding consideration.

Yes there is definitely a pattern here, as per the other similar comments. Will be incorporating this feedback into future development, thanks!

Closer to the Wormhole ( Than Before )

    In.

    Lol.

When a noodle seemed good but even just using wrong headphones makes it need definate EQ etc.

    Super apps though.

Did have the ( We're closest, to the Wormhole ever, vibe )

Mad its just a bass sound also.

  • I got in on the beta and was blown away at the quality of the buttload of presets, but after tweaking the settings and slapping a lil FaC Chorus before made some really trippy shit. The modulation will definitely force movement to whatever source. Unbelievable value @ 3.99, even if you aren’t into shimmers and verbs, this lil mfr will seduce you.

Ringotron is great for sure. I'm a bit confused by this last line tho, as this is not a shimmer or a reverb, and has pretty much no connection to either of those types of fx!

  • Sorry, workflow jargon- I lump sounds like shimmers, verbs, rings, any fx that adds obvious transients as a “ group” I dunno man, autism, logical group sequencing, I suppose. I can hear the differences between shimmers, verbs, rings components, etc. i hope we all do.

I was just returning to comment on what an incredible deal Ringotron is at 3.99. The presets are godlike and I’ve been running the SFX group and using shit like Insectoid Embrace preset (Ringotron) along with digitism and king of digital, and you have some wicked shit.

Yeah! The presets in it are really great, obviously a lot of time put in by the dev

  • Oh yeah. I love it on hand percussion.

  • After using Ringotron for several months now and not coming anywhere close to hearing all of the presets, I am continuously blown away with the sound, control, and versatility of this plugin.

Also, the dev did something really cool for the community by pricing it the way they did, it makes it available to everyone, and once you hear it- you’ll want it in your toolkit, it’s just that good.

I am constantly amazed everytime I load it- I really want to experience Merennse (iceworks)

Truely an incredible plugin that is insanely inexpensive -

Yes, this was one of the standout FX of the year, no question

  • Thank you, sir for sharing your opinion, it is valued anmongst the core of this board and all of your contributions over the years man have been class act (I think) we appreciate ya.

The Ringotron fella is cool af too, I hit them up after the first few presets asking why it was so cheap, lol. If your into metals, springs, bells, electricity, lines, industrial or just want to metallically glisten each HH or maybe turn your drums into a breathing spring (my favorite) this app can’t be touched in terms of its price, capability, and quality.

  • Does this one install on Mac at all? I thought I recalled seeing a separate version on the website that did, but it’s probably a memory hallucination…

It is also excellent when used with a guitar. Short example

Answered my own question as curiosity got the better of me, seems not. Any chance you could flip the switch on Mac installs @quantovox ? Or anyone know any max4live patches that get close to the subtlety of this?

Unfortunately such universal app releases have been indefinitely put on hold after Spatializer and RealPhase.

Fair enough, it’s probably nowhere near as simple as I’m imagining 😄

  • @filo01 yeah man, that sounds fantastic. Ringotron is so good, there’s so much that you can do with it, Most synth users fall in love with the ring mod for a variety of reasons, it kinda sounds like special ed robots talking shit, maybe it’s because it’s that efffect that has the most attitude, whatever the case…. Ringotron has taken those core tenants and imbued some seriously Frankensteinien elements to breathe “life” (movement) into it.

I really should post a track just using one synth and Ringotron presets to show the versatility.
I really like the way the guitar sounds with it, bells too.

Fun template to try: king key’s typewriter bells and Ringotron’s “voyager” then if you add real phase or spatialized, you can get some really hypnotic effect chains. quantavox is top tier, imho.

Thanks for understanding. Had high hopes for this model (Spatializer would have very likely been the very first intel-compatible AUv3 before some Logic Pro bugs made QA unhappy and just kept the Apple Silicon option mostly as a bonus), but looks like there are some fundamentally irreconcilable differences when it comes to onboarding desktop professionals while not alienating iOS musicians with higher prices. So all of that is being rethinked, especially since calls for VST support have increased.

I’m sure it would sell as a VST, I’ve been hunting round and there’s nothing that’s exactly like it that i I can find…
