Pretty steep price for a delay. Looks good.

  • Here is the demo. Sounds good I think - this one’s four or five coffees though so it’s not one of these ‘just buy it and see if you like it scenarios, for me at least. I’ll wait for more demo’s. I’ve too many delays that just seem to produce a messy non musical rabble.

  • I can’t be sure, but reading between the lines I’m not sure he likes this forum:

    https://audio.digitster.com/

  • Jens is an oddball. His JAF Collection filter smorgasbord is second to none. I’ll take if first if it nets me the latter.

The link has a whole article on the dislike for this forum, complete with screenshots lol wow I never noticed that before

Not surprising. He got himself banned at least once.

I regret my last post mocking him. I actually like his plugins and feel sorry about his unfortunate inability to deal with the community, and vice-versa, for any length of time.

  • He’s very prolific. I can’t believe how many new plugins he has on the go. The SH101 emulation he’s teasing looks particularly interesting.

I don’t think Jens handled the criticism he was subjected to here very well but I don’t think it’s nice when people are ganged up upon either.

I admire the one man shop developers — it’s very hard to be good at coding, business and public relations. Very few of us have that breadth of skill set.

I also admire developers that have the confidence and ego to make the app they want the way they want it — not all apps need to be designed by committee. It’s often the weird, out-there apps that are the most interesting.

However, together with that ego you also need the hide of a rhino… not everybody is equipped with both.

Unfortunately for him, there’s a difference between being an anonymous internet nobody and having a public face. People on a forum can get away with awful behaviour with little to no consequence. Not so much when you’re representing a company.

The tirades on his website about this place aren’t a good look. Even if they’re fully justified from his point of view. Speaking as a small business owner myself, a professional should rise above it. I’m always dealing with arseholes and if I said what I really wanted to say to them I’d have no customers left lol.

Either that or you need to have Elon Musk’s wealth and then you can seemingly do and say whatever you want.

  • @klownshed very well put, I read his rant and found myself seeing his side of it quite easily. still, that sort of thing should have perhaps been written down to capture the emotions journal-style and not shared publicly.

  • Where does he promote his work, then?

    It sounds really good. Tempting.

  • My experience - I missed an intro price on Jax grand I think? due to being hospitalised a while back. I contacted the developer to cheekily ask for the intro price lol, and you know what, he sent me a free code! Awesome imo.

    Hope he calms down.

  • What, he literally has an ANTI AUDIOBUS LOGO? 😂 I mean that's actually comical. I'm sure he's just trolling 😃

If it is "just" trolling, it is not very nice. Especially the rant againt Gav.

  • We won’t fix anything this way and it’s just a headache for @Michael.

If people only write glowing reports on these new apps that might create a ceasefire… but someone will
complain about pricing, User Interface or such and it we will be right back here. Better to just have a thread per app and share reviews. Reviews with TestFlight betas will be no risk engagement.

Of the current JAX One FX apps I’m most interested in owning the Frequency Shifter. I like to take a pure
signal and mix it with the signal process by the Frequency Shifter…. either fixed in settings or with a modulated control.

I must admit this Delay app demo has me intrigued.

The only thing that won't risk any drama is for people to only ever say good things about these apps. But people have a right to make constructive criticism and should not be bullied into a situation like that. Better perhaps to just avoid discussion of them altogether. I for one take absolutely zero pleasure in this whole saga. The betas are there if people want to test them and make up their own minds. I can't really think of a better, humane solution.

  • There will be drama. But it’s always good to enjoy it a bit without getting sucked into making it worse for our host.

  • Not sure why there's so many comments trying to smooth things over and see things from his point of view? He's quite obviously not a very nice person. His attack on Gav is quite nasty actually and having some kind of grudge against a whole forum (obviously full of different characters and views) is just weird.
Happy not to buy his stuff and his childish rant about nobody buying the WU apps is pathetic.

Pretty much how I feel. I would have probably have bought at least some of his apps, but his attitude to his apps that don’t sell and his whole naming people on his site stinks imo. People know I’ve had my own issues with some here, but tarring all with the same brush always makes you look bad - while commonalities in a forum may be a given, such as the whining about app prices often, as you said: ‘obviously full of different people and views’ is a given too.

It’s an interesting thought that this forum has much sway and or power to influence the buying majority. I would guess and it is only a guess, that the ABF are a small minority of a small minority interest group….possibly?

Just to add. We also encourage each other to buy lone developers apps when we don’t actually really need them. I would say for every app discouraged a sale here, many more are sold due to our let’s say ‘encouraging over indulgence’ lol

I completely agree! I can’t support a developer with an axe to grind against the iOS music community and its content creators!

He is creating universal apps that run on IOS, iPadOS, MacOS and Apple VR devices. He’s also going with “sell fewer apps but keep the prices high” revenue strategy and offering some 2 for 1 promos. Making it personal was a bad idea but he’s obviously pretty upset over some comments made here. Go figure.

There are a lot of developers that just skip engaging the forum beyond product announcements.

Guys like you even handle that PR step from them so they don’t have to.

  • Any chance this is the same Dev that would make passive-aggressive statements with HAL?

Ok, i’m not surprised then that it has come to this. I remember how cringy it felt when I had read some of those comments. That was a red flag right there.

I thought that was pretty funny. But then again, I have a high tolerance for insult - at least when it comes in humorous form. 😎
