What speakers do you mix for?

  • Sounds like a lot of Tesla owners here?
I was having a hell of a time trying to dial my mix in while driving. Accidentally deleted instruments or FX at times. But in the end I did notice an improvement. I’m guessing the road noise isn’t to different from pink noise?

That is a very interesting thought.
I'm going to try the pink noise mixing idea on my next mix. I need all the help I can get.

  • Hey @Fruitbat1919 I was doing a little online stuff today and encountered an old video that might be of help in your quest to get your monitoring together..

As I mentioned in my earlier post it is more about knowing what you’re listening for than what you are listening on. I hope this helps.

As a side note, when listening on my iPad speakers I can hear all of what he is talking about.

Thanks a lot. Will watch this in a bit when I’ve woken up properly. To be honest, I think I also have some issues with my old studio monitors and the room with them - so, using my iPad speakers and learning what to listen for may be my best option. I tried a I know well mixed and mastered Zappa CD through my monitors and the bass in the room is problematic, but also the high ends are very low and muted, so I’m thinking my monitors have issues beyond the room sound issues. They are over around 25 years old now.
