I've paid for AUM on iPad. Don't suppose anyone can point me to an older version that I can download so I can put it on my Mac?

Even if they could point you to an older version it would be impossible to install. It just doesn't work that way.

The only way you can install an older version is if you backed it up before it was upgraded, while logged in with your Apple ID. That app backup can't be installed by any other Apple ID.

Your best bet is to try backing up the current version using iMazing, then install it to the Mac with iMazing. @HolyMoses says the current version doesn't work as well, but it might be worth a try.

Thanks Wim. I'll have a look. I've got a few iPads etc... laying about.

It won’t matter which version is installed on them. iMazing has to back up from the App Store version, not the installed version on the device.

  • Hey kids. has anyone else had a play with NanoStudio on Mac? I thought I'd try to bring some projects across from the iPad but can't for the life of me find where NanoStudio stores projects when installed on a Mac. I made a quick project on Desktop and tried to find that via file search but alas no luck. I looked inside the app package as I thought it may be hidden in there but again couldn't see it. Any tips?

    I made a quick test.

I find the project folder/files easy...

On your Mac, then Username and the below path... Bibliotek is Library on English.

Thanks for reply @HolyMoses . That's so weird though as I have no "Library" folder in my Home/Username folder. There's a Library folder in Users/Shared/ but it has no Nanostudio material in it. It's weird though as I've saved a project on the Mac so it must be hiding somewhere!

It used to be at least two different ’Library’ folders on Mac - on in root level on Mac HDD, and one in the ’User’ folder root level…

Do you have MacOS 17.x or any previous OS installed?

    I have MacOS 18 beta4 on my Mac…

I’m on 17. It’s weird that a search of the whole hard rice doesn’t bring anything up. I’m stumped!

The ~/Library folder might be hidden in the Finder. I’d be surprised if it doesn’t exist. That is where the OS keeps library items particular to an individual user. The shared library is for items available to all users. At some point, Apple started hiding the Library because people accidentally moved critical files into it out of it. If you know how to use terminal window, you can check by doing a directory listing of your home folder.

  • @espiegel123 and @wim thanks so much. I started to wonder whether it was hidden and checked view settings in finder for a show hidden files option (ala Windows) but couldn't see it. Now I know how! Will have a play when I'm at my desktop. Thanks so much again.

  • It worked! Thanks @HolyMoses @espiegel123 and @wim . Gems, all of you.

  • Hold down the option key when clicking the ‘Go’ menu in the finder to show the user library folder.
