OASIS reunion & tour. How much do you reckon the tickets will be?

Face value of course. They are on sale this coming weekend. Headline news in the UK. What do you mean you’ve never heard of them? 😀
I’m guessing £250 - £1500
I know one thing for sure. I’ll not be coughing up whatever it is. How much would you go up to for a ticket?

  • I’d start at them paying me at least a grand before I’d even think about going 😅😂

Most I’ve paid for a ticket is around £200 and they were really good tickets. I think they’ll be £100 for are end of the stadium £300 for special area promo gumph. But…dynamic pricing will make them stupid money on face value.

I saw them in the 90s and thought they were shiiiite. I don’t think age will have improved them. Wouldn’t even put them in the top 5 bands from Manchester I have seen.

But then, a lot said the same about the roses when they reformed. Ok, Ian Brown still couldn't sing, it was in a horrible venue, it was a blatant cash grab with zero artist merit…but for me and my mates it was something else entirely, something we all shared.

  • Wernt as much an Oasis fanatic , as others and also being a raver but would always listen to the album/songs. Its not like I carried ear plugs.

But hearing songs of theirs lately in supermarkets etc makes you miss the 90s.

It’s funny that they’re now considered appropriate for supermarket muzak….Oh well, I guess that’s where all the old ones go eventually. Rock and roll. :'(

  • I just listened to a handful of songs from Oasis. Immediately I thought, "This sounds like Post Rock with vocals." I like Post Rock, so this band definitely has its charm for me. I wouldn't pay an exorbitant amount of money to see them live mind you, but if I had to choose between seeing Oasis live vs Taylor Swift live, I'd choose the former.

  • Are they gonna be Blur’s opening act? 🙃

  • Who's Oasis? B)

Oasis are real musicians that play real instruments and really sing and not rely on a iPhone and an iPad to touch input, menu dive for magic buttons to do the work for them.

The hell are you on about? All of us here are real musicians, whether or not a person can play a "real instrument" or not. There are no such things as "magic buttons" in any iOS music app.

And you seem to talk big for someone who has contributed absolutely nothing to this forum and hasn't even shared any music. Honestly if this is your attitude, you can go to KVR and/or Gearspace and leave the rest of us alone. We don't need your sort here.

  • I think Noel is a legend - very talented guy, huge respect :)

I would pay $2,000 to see Oasis because they deserve it. I would never pay $2,000 for someone standing behind a booth with a spectacular light show.

Well, I'm sure we can agree that we both like Oasis. Never heard them until today, and I like their sound. Like I said it sounds like Post Rock with vocals, and I like Post Rock.

But the way you type makes you come off as a snob, especially when seemingly talking rubbish about Electronic music, which you appear to know nothing about.

Admin, why that guy mad at me above? I answered a previous question of who Oasis is. Nothing in my post said anything bad about members here. omg.

Quote "and not rely on a iPhone and an iPad to touch input, menu dive for magic buttons to do the work for them."

  • Saw them once at a festival (it was either Glastonbury or Reading, I can’t remember). We got itchy feet and headed to the dance tent. Still sing Wonderwall at the top of my lungs whenever I hear it though.

  • Most expensive blur tickets were 140 cheapest were 70 at Wembley. If they charge more than that they are grifters. They only did like one and a half good albums.

  • " Gallaghers could earn more from Oasis reunion than ‘they made in entire 90s’ ": article here.

You should check out their B sides album master plan. Their B sides were sometimes better than their singles.

Of all the britpop bands they were certainly one of them. Blur, pulp and suede were better musicians, better lyrically & with far more originality imho. Live, having seen them all, Oasis bored me. Suede on the other hand, converted me from a hater to a fan. (Suedes b side album sci fi lullabies is also fantastic.) Liam was a great singer at one point, unfortunately I was woken up one Glastonbury to him caterwauling with Beady eye. I think it’s safe to say his voice isn’t what it was, although I’m led to believe it’s improved since then. So yeah I’d go see swifty. Might not be my music, but I’d enjoy it more.

  • I only listened to rave music etc

but lets make it a Britpop thread

  • I think I were autistically deaf to lyrics or something.

Yeah the Keane song wernt played until 05 or something but at a mates wedding reception. I just liked the guitar intro and people were asking what my intentions were for playing the song and hand on the stereos volume, drunk etc.

I just wernt aware of the lyrics going on about betrayed ( at a wedding reception )

  • I reckon they'll be £180 for a standing ticket.

Acquiesce started as a B side and was probably the only song of theirs that I liked in the 90s. Partly because Noel sang the chorus and has a much better voice than Liam imho. I was Blur all the way back then though.

Like others, when I hear Oasis now I do get a pang of nostalgia. Would probably watch on the TV if they headline Glastonbury or something.

    Great video too.

  • I see these live though.

They were playing at a comedy/entertainment club

  • If oasis is what folks are getting nostalgic about, then nostalgia isn’t what it used to be 😜

Arse end of britpop track seams appropriate for a Brit pop thread.

  • Feeder and MSP in one post, excellent, as feeder said ‘yesterday went too soon’…

As for tolerating this, well it’s more relevant than ever…

  • There’s rumor going around that the band the chameleons may be opening up for them. If you haven’t heard them before this is a classic song right here..

    Listen and thank me later!

If you pause the masses against the classes video at a certain frame you can see me, when I had hair 🤣

  • The best britpop band:

Oh definitely checking the B sides out for sure. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

An interesting take. I quite like this deeper dive. :)

  • Anyway…here’s a payday.
