Not just Air pods, it's broken on my Bluetooth headphones too
FYI - not related to v18 OS…
I’m on iPadOS 18.1 beta and Airpod Pro doesn’t work in Logic Pro in that OS either…
But I guess that just means that whatever got broken in 18 just went across to 18.1 beta, no?
Was working fine before I undated to 18
It really is time for Apple to allow it’s iOS customers to roll back to previous operating systems because of these issues. Sorry to hear those who are having issues from upgrading to 18. I will stick to 17 for a while.
☝️ this
Silly old Apple. Hopefully they’ll patch it quickly.
Has anyone had any joy submitting bugs to Apple before? Dunno if that’s even a thing??
Yeah, I was very unclear here - what I meant was that this ”bug” is even presented in 18.1 beta 4…
Maybe it ain’t a bug, just Apple disabled this forever in Logic, and, we can have it back if we buy the new zero latency iPod Pro v2!!??
That thought did cross my mind too! 😂
had the same problem after updating iOS 18 on iPad M2 1 TB / airpods pro 2
after turning Bluetooth a few times on/of, new start…
it works ✅
maybe you try connecting first earpods, then start logic, vice versa…etc
Ah good that you got it working. I did try a fair few times of turning off Bluetooth, disconnecting and reconnecting but will persevere.
Do you remember if you reconnected before opening Logic? Or after Logic was open?
later /after connecting you can turn on again if you like
I just randomly opened my iPad, turned off Bluetooth, turned it on again, connected AirPods, opened Logic Pro, and it worked 🤷♂️
Thanks for the tips!
Yay I'm back in again too! Panic over
arghhhh
it happened again
had to turn Bluetooth on / off, check it in the control center, turn there Bluetooth on / off etc..
it happend after change to a song, played in Safari…
returning back to Logic and boooom…
still available listening in Safari…
after trying some options (Logic clos, opne, Bluetooth turn on/off) it worked
ok, let`s try thie…
https://www.tenorshare.com/ios-18/ios-18-bluetooth-issues.html
latest (working) workaround:
1.open Garageband (keep open)
2.open Logic - Bluetooth not working (keep open)
3.close Garegaband
4.Bluetooth in Logic works ✅
Thank’s Sam!!
Although the latency is around 80 to 100ms with my Airpod Pro from 2021, it’s OK in some circumstances…
Please update the thread title with something like "(PROBLEM SOLVED)". Thank you.
The problem isn't solved.
You can't possibly consider having to resort to that convoluted workaround a solution, can you?
The thread title is a helpful warning to Logic Pro users who use Bluetooth earbuds to consider delaying updating to iPadOS 18.
On the bright side, it might signal and upcoming update to logic Pro. Perhaps it’ll fix this and add a couple more goodies.
…the goodies can gladly be Score Editing…
This problem has come back for me tonight, and this workaround isn’t working either unfortunately.
I can’t see a pattern that causes this to happen.
I can ...
Despite years and years and years of OS updates breaking things here and there, Early Downloader Disfunction (EDD) sufferer throws caution to the wind. Weird intermittent behaviors manifest over time. Eventually the problems get worked out, causing the EDD sufferer to forget the past and repeat the cycle next time.
😎
I wonder if a driver could be crashing. You could try to look for any crash logs (search in Settings for Analytics). Not sure what to look for, but the timestamp would be relevant. It'll likely be an all-lowercase name ending in "d".
It started working again. I opened GarageBand again, then Logic Pro and it was suddenly working. Didn’t have to close GarageBand.
May have been a coincidence of course.
I’ve submitted feedback to Apple after seeing another thread where someone actually got a response from them!
I’m done for the night now but will have a look for crashlogs when I get another chance.
😂 I can’t help myself
I contacted Apple su> @NeuM said:
I wouldn't exactly call it solved - I've already informed Apple support
This Airpod Pro workaround still works for me, every time I test this…
That’s good. I did get it to work eventually last night but had to leave GB open.
