  • I don’t have that OS or Logic on the iPad but…

Try in settings, Bluetooth and on the device, the ‘I’, and ‘Forget this device’, then re-pair it

Let me know if that does anything

Thanks but tried that to no avail.

We have a workaround that is doing the job at the moment, but there’s defo a bug that needs fixing.

If this is a big bug it’ll get fixed quickly.

  • I can't even use AirPods to do any real-time audio, the latency drives me nuts...

If i need headphones I only use wired ones. Wireless will never be as fast as wired.

I do sometimes out of pure laziness cos my AirPods are always in my pocket. Consequently, my brain - finger connection has learned to compensate for the latency reasonably well. Nothing intricate though of course.

  • I think I found the solution for this one. Not perfect, but anyway,
Go to Ipad settings, apps, choose Logic pro and turn of Logic’s permission of microphone use.
    This worked for me.

I actually use my AirPods all the time for logic when I am in bed or in the car waiting for the kids just sketching some ideas or programming some lines. The convenience of just having a small quick package to instantly connect without wires is great. I also appreciate the transparency feature that I can work with audio and not have to unplug when one of the kids have a question (the kids needs seem to activate when I try to work) The latency has gotten much better over the years. Of course when at the desk or critical listening a dongle or interface and iems/headphones are preferred.

    Thank you! This worked.

This all actually makes a lot of sense now. Needed special accommodations for Bluetooth audio due to the microphone messing with the audio system has long been a reason why developers have often left Bluetooth audio support out of their apps. At least until people complained enough.
