Want more Mitosynth patches?

I asked this a while ago but there was not much interest. But i thought i tryed finally for a last time if there is a bit interest for this kind of patches:

This is just one patch played with some notes. The sound evolves itself while playing. of cousrse there would be also XY pads for more "moving" trough the sounds. If there is not much need or interest please let me know. I'm just not sure if it's worth yet.

  • A huge YES, your designs are awsome.

  • I like this patch and want more

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Beautiful! Your first round of presets were really great and inspiring. I know I said I'd release a batch of presets, but haven't had time to yet (I've only done like 15 rudimentary presets). I'm gonna dive into Mito further when I can though. I did 120 presets bank for Nave that I was happy with, and Mito is the other synth that "clicked" with me on wanting to make my own noises. Anyway, YES to more Cinebient sounds. :)

  • Wouldn't mind getting mito synth brilliant sounds

  • Thank you... well, seems i have to create another bunch of patches then. This patch here is still very simple. Mitosynth is really the only iOS synth for me which is on par with some of the big players in terms of sound design. When you load high quality samples inside it...... awesome. But i'm still searching for some voices etc.

  • Your previous patches are remarkable. Any additional patches you created would most definitely be appreciated by me, that is for sure.

Thank you all. That motivates me a bit again ; )

@ChrisG: Great to hear. Nave was also one of the synths i loved for patch design but still to unstable for me so i deleted it a while ago. But i heard a few days ago about the VST/AU again (still no release date). I think i will get this then and hope i can use your patches there too. I used indeed a few of them in some older tracks. But Mitosynth is really so easy and fast to program. I have Omnisphere and Alchemy etc. but i still come very often back to Mitosynth and i´m amazed what it can do. The only thing i really miss are better filters and more modulation of FX like reverb and echo.

Indeed, if anyone knows of a synth for Mac where i could also use up to 32 (or at least 16) different samples/sound sources which i can morph and/or blend, please let me know. I will not abandon Mitosynth or iOS complete yet but i really want something like this on my Mac too. I have Alchemy which is great but i can "only" use 4 sound sources.

  • @Cinebient your Mitosynth patches are fantastic! Anything more from you would be great. Being mostly just a preset guy, I appreciate anyone who has the aptitude and time to delve into the guts of a synthesizer and produce something that is musical.

@ChrisG your Nave patches are some of the best out there.

Yes, yes, yes. I wish I knew what was happening in that patch! Were you using gridcore?

  • Idem, I love this patch.

  • I really enjoyed your first set, Cinebient. A second round would be gratefully received too.

  • No, just blender mode. With Gridcore and the Sequencer there are even more complex things possible. But too complex can be bad for melodic parts etc. For me pads, soundscape and FX are so great to make with Mitosynth. I also tryed sequences, trance gates, leads, bass.... all possible but it really stands out for those lively pads. I know no synth which can use so much LFO's (unlimited?).

  • Yespleasedoubleplus.

  • I have a question about Mitosynth: if a user has multiple samples loaded and "morphs" between them, does Mitosynth cross-fade the samples or does it interpolate between them? does it ever depend on the mode, or does Mitosynth always just volume fader the samples? I think it's the latterat least that's what I've been hearing, but I wasn't sure and thought @cinebent would be the person to ask as resident Mitosynth pwner.

  • Sorry, i missed a few posts.
First, i'm happy that there seems still a bit interest. So i will try to make a bunch of new patches in the next few weeks. Any special wishes are welcome ;)

@papertiger: Good question. I would say it can't interpolate (like Alchemy) and it just blends the sound sources (but in any way you can imagine). There is a "fold" mode which works different (don't use it much because it's very rough most time). I didn't understand myself but it's all described in the manual (in-app).
The Gridcore (i think) it's a bit like a big wavetable (like Animoog) where you can choose how the sound sources will blend. You can modulate it also in any way and make it endless evolving changes. I would have myself a lot questions but i bothered the mighty Wooji Juice enough last time.
Alchemy has def. much better quality filters, FX and mophing options (sadly you have no access to it in the iOS version) but with Mitosynth there are a few things possible i even can't do with my 3 top monster synths i mainly use last time (Alchemy, Omnisphere, Dune2). So i often come back and create a few patches there (the only iOS app i often use now). The downside is that the transitions are not smooth enough and it seems i'm often blow the CPU cycles too high.
Mitosynth has also limits and downsides but i still love it and it's for me still the best iOS synth by a country mile. No developer was able to create a proper patch browser.... until Mitosynth came out. Even a lot desktop developers could learn a lot from this synth ;) Sure i can put out higher quality patches with other monster synths on my Mac but it's not such an easy and fast workflow and i still have to master these. Still wonder why in 2014 most desktop synths are ugly as hell compared to the "little" but beautiful iOS UI's.... And after hours with trackpad and keyboard i feel good editing with a touch screen for a while again. Only iOS 8.1. really sucks and kills my motivation to go on there.

  • +1 for new patches. And remember for every person who says Yes to more patches, there are probably 10 more who are too lazy to speak-up but they'll still appreciate them. ;)

  • I realize that Mitosynth is great for evolving, lush pads; but is it possible to create lead voices that are exceptional in tone and expression? The kind of sound that you can solo for hours with, and not get tired if. Like the complexity of the human voice, which is one of the best instruments in the world, it needs subtle shifts in harmonics, to a wide range of dynamic velocity of expression. With all the iOS synths out there, it is hard to find a good synth solo patch that you can keep going back to.

  • Should be possible....not sure if i can do it ;) I wanted to upload a few test patches here but it seems dropbox will also not work since update. I added 10+ parameters to a pad (one axis) and i think it's not possible to get smooth transitions then because of to high cpu load. Seems i will be limited to strip them down. Maybe i must wait for iPad pro and iOS X :) I will try to solve this stuff. So it makes no sense for me. The first bunch of patches was just to experimental stuff and without much XY pad settings. In theory i could change hundred of parameters via the pads at the same time but in real it isn't working so good. Not sure if it's iOS, my iPad Air or i'm pushing again too hard.... will see.

You're absolutely right, but if anything may be underestimating the interest, especially over the longer run....

  • Just bought MitoSynth last night and wanted to say thanks to @Cinbient for Volume 1. I'm addicted to trying out new patches, so Volume 2 will be greatly appreciated.

Any other MS patches available anywhere? I found Cinbient's and the one posted on SynthPatcher, but that was it so far.

Nothing to thank's. The @soundtestroom puts together a big pack of @sinapsya and mine and a few others. But sinapsya's are still available too seperat i think. I also wondered that there are not millions of patches since sharing is easy and the patch browser with tags works great. That's another sad story with iOS. I think it's just that there are more "players" than "designers" in the iOS world.

To my second bunch..... ähhh, sorry, that will be delayed quite a bit. I resell my iPad and i will try to create them on my iPhone 5 if i have the time. But i also wanted to combine them into some Audiobus 2 presets with AUFX apps and other synth for massive layerd soundscapes and sequences...... but iOS 8.1 is such a pain and it's not possible to go on there at the moment. I will have an eye on iOS if that will change very soon..... as a pessimist i doubt : /

Oh no apology necessary. I just wanted to thank you for what you already did. Perhaps more patches will be available as time goes on. I would do some myself but I'm terrible at sound design and have very limited time. So the patches are a big help!

  • @Cinebient:
Is there a Mitosynth forum? I'm having trouble getting the Wavechamber to work and can't find a forum to post questions. Let me know if you know of a forum.

  • @Slam_Cut: Maybe i can help you.... what trouble do you have with the Wavechamber.

Indeed, i will not finish this second patch bank anytime soon for some reasons..... sorry!

  • Moved up cos of packers

  • Since i got in much love with Mitosynth the last days again i started to make again a few new patches for it (and rework some of the older ones).
Here is a short dark cinematic soundscape which is 100% Mitosynth. I will share these patches (and more) when they are ready. It will focus on the dark side ; )

  • Where's the link to download the patches?

  • I'm still working on the new patches.... so no link yet... but once ready i will post it here. Damn, i love this synth for crazy sound design. Nothing like this on desktop yet. In 2-3 weeks i should be ready ;)
