What a badass app.
Yeah!
Wow
Supreme. Haven’t used this app in a long time but now with the MIDI out I’m definitely putting this back on
When i woke up i saw this video as soon as i opened my phone haha. Its awesome when a dev drops a lil video to explain updates.
This is going to be very useful!
Oh man, this is one of my homepage apps. I'd probably have a panic attack if I deleted it hahah.
But I feel this if your process needs this, storage space is vital. Apple overcharges for it.
Same! I was like if nino didn't post yet I'm letting people know. The app store didn't have it listed to update on my list of updates available, I had to go to the app store page to get it.
I love how all of his videos are essentially exactly the same. Quick showcase, same cadence, same style, same background group of people (maybe kids?) faintly in the background, lowkey showing this deep musicality he's obviously got.
The videos on the channel were super helpful for me not only to learn the app but to understand to build a song/structure and making noises into beats.
Koala was the first real attempt at making music, essentially the first instrument I ever used to make music other than a guitar I never put any real effort into when I was a kid. In a way it's like the first DAW I ever used as I only used that for a couple years for all my exports and never bounced to anywhere else.
Koala is always going to hold a special place deeeeep in my soul, as nerdy as that is, I don't care
@offbrands man koala is the greatest! I use it for almost everything. I like to arrange with samples instead of sequencing an entire track with audio clips and MIDI. I have had every roland SP and still have the 404 mk2, but koala gets the most use of anything. Its amazing! I hope he adds the ability to set loop length for when you are sampling into a pad, so it auto cuts off at 4 bars or whatever you set, like the 404mk2 but other than that its perfection!
Oh damn that would be dope! I guess loopy pro would make that possible in a roundabout way but on the app itself would be great. Have you given that input to Marek?
I’m kinda surprised it doesn’t have a cut off now that I’m thinking about it and know that it’s a feature of hardware. Doesn’t make me love it any less but I wonder why it’s not there
Nice!!
I haven’t but maybe I’ll mention it in the discord, it really makes life much easier haha!
I use the sp a lot just for that capability. Perfect loops every time and no need to trim.
Still love koala a lot but that would make it just that much more better! Its an amazing piece of software
Go let em know!! I’m not on their discord server otherwise I would be screenshotting this 😉😜
Done!
You should join the discord, its got great info, updates, community etc!

Weird. I’ve been using MIDI out with one of the more recent updates.
Midi out from the pads always worked. The new capability is midi out from the sequencer.
Sequencing multiple Audio Units with koala isn’t a bad thing at all!
Building tracks this way is going to be quite amazing. I used my op1f as a midi bt controller to record into koalas sequencer… and sending the sequencer out to sunrizer and zeoon for the test run.
Each midi pad can send to any channel under the edit button… and with the channel filter in aum or other daw.
The first test
Apologies for the too loud drums lol
Yanno why not. It sounds lovely. I don’t know why I never have looked into 😅
Thanks @wim 🤘🏽🙏🏽
Oho
Wait a sec. Koala can now act as a MIDI sequencer in AUM?! 😳 (This jolly well may replace Atoms Piano Roll for me.) Now I see how MIDI Out could benefit me.
Yessss!!! I use koala for almost everything and it just clicks with me, so unless i need some super MIDI editing beyond what koala can do, its now THE sequencer!!!! such a great update
Same. It’s the app that I clicked with the most. Other than putting in some time and effort into Drambo which I feel pretty good with now, it’ll probably always be Koala.
Great! This is an amazing app.
I tried it today with LP and it's amazing. The missing midi sequencer for Loopy! Recorded Midi with all kind of Pianos in Koala and recorded the loops into a donut. Then cleared the recording in koala and recorded something new. All super tight in sync and so much fun!
Hope someone makes a video explaining how to use this midi out feature in AUM. I’ve watched the video explaining how it works when connected to the dude’s CS keyboard, but how it works in AUM is not immediately clear (to me, a dumb idiot)
I can help ya out. Send me a message… if you are on instagram i can share lil videos much easier
Thanks man, yeah find me on IG. Handle is ampism
(Or I'll find you....)
I can’t figure out how to record notes from the AUM midi keyboard into Koala.
Notes as in scale/chromatic notes on the piano roll for one pad at a time? Or pad hits for all the pads?
