You can always choose what to sync, not everyone needs all data on all machines, although full sync is the most comfortable option for sure

You can get a hub for the Mac Mini 4 next year that brigs back the USB A hubs.
This is great! I was wondering what hub I would need to accommodate all my gear then discovered that the BenQ monitor has 2 USB-A ports and an additional USB-C port beside the USB-C port for the mini. This solved that problem for me for the time being. I wonder if I'll ever have a use for the super fast Thunderbolt ports ever.

I never actually thought about using the ports on my BenQ ask I assumed they just work into the monitor and not the Mac ?
I plugged in my old Anker USB-A hub into the USB-A port and my iConnecMIDI2+ into one of the ports on the monitor and it all works so far.
Did you consider whether the old iMac could be used as an external monitor for the new mini? They say it should be doable for at least some of the old models.
I’m toying with the idea of getting an M4 Mini as a replacement for my M1 MacBook Air. The upgrade would principally be advantageous for Davinci Resolve video work and possibly some 3d work. I’ve not as yet hit a wall with music production work on the M1. Financially the smart thing to do would be to sell the Macbook and at present it’s always been chained to my desk and also used as a second monitor, using my iPad as the mobile music making device. However I’m partially inclined to keep it ao I can actually use it is a laptop/portable desktop device, principally for music.
So my question, after that long preamble, is would I be able to easily mirror/sync Logic projects between the two or am I asking for trouble.
Yes, I did. The Astropad Luna dongle was an option but there were too many reports that it didn't work quite well enough. My version of iMac doesn't allow it to be used as monitor. (late 2015 iMac)
