That will be awesome! Sinapsya has been asking them about Egoist on twitter, haha.
The bundle before the sale was $40USD

I've got bad eyes too - I'm a grumpy old man with a cranky old iPad!

Thank you I'll have a look at MIDIbus later, don't know much about that one.
Main apps I use (I don't expect you to test them all!) are: Gadget, Samplr, Addictive Synth, Oscilab, SeekBeats (I've seen Doug's vid and that definitely works as a MIDI clock), Mitosynth, Thor, Voco, iSEM and TriqTraq. iMS20 iVCS3 and iPulsaret would be nice but they all glitch like buggery in AB already.
I've got Sector as well so nice to know that works, I tend not to use it much though as it sounds a bit samey after a while...could be I'm not using it properly though.

I'll try what I can, when I can (still have errands after work, grumble, grumble).
I think Sector works best when the Warp slices engine is used in moderation. And of course, you should def. try loading your own audio in there if you haven't -- beats and melodic/phrases!

Thanks! Yes I've got some washing up to do...
@papertiger said:
I'll give it another go at some point, I get a bit carried away usually so I'll try and turn the warping down a few notches next time.
I've got my eye on CSGrain since it was recently updated, so trying to make my mind up between that and Effectrix. Not sure about WoW either, as I'm guessing filter sweeps are probably pretty well covered by Turnado. My most-lusted after app at the moment is CSSpectral but I'm guessing my old iPad would explode if I tried to run that one.
Thesys 14.99$ - 7.99$
WOW 14.99$ - 7.99$
Effectrix 17.99$ - 8.99$
Turnado 19.99$ - 9.99$
Individualy 67.96$
Bundle special 40$
1/2 price individual 34.96
1/2 price bundle ??
And todays bundle was for 17...
I hope the bundle comes back for that price.
Since we're at it
Thesys isn't part of the bundle, or wasn't before the bundle disappeared. If you check Turnado, WOW and Effectrix on the App Store, they all have 'Also included in' sections (but these are currently blank). Thesys doesn't.
I got the bundle a few weeks ago for £27.99 (don't know what that was in $, but 40 sounds about right) and added Thesys earlier today at the half price deal.
Looks like they disabled the bundle while the sale is on.
Hmm. Don't think I can resist Thesys at 8 bucks.
I suspect someone messed up the bundle price this morning, and pulled it once they realized the error.
Wonder how long until Egoist drops… as previously mentioned in this thread and found on WOW's AppStore page (the circled "E" on the audiobus tab):
(Edit: Effectrix and Thesys also in on the Egoist fun!) does anyone know if those images were put up today or are these old?
How does Thesys compare to StepPolyArp?
@Seangarland That would be a bummer for me to know that they pulled the bundle because I posted and said 'thanks'. I was letting you guys know. Meh, someone would have posted, if not me. I understand it from a corporate/monetary view, though.

I don't think it was just you. I'm guessing they must have caught it somewhere. These bundles still seem to be confusing for some developers with regards to pricing.

Just FYI, tried Effectrix with MIDIbus and it worked.
Ops, "accidentally" got myself Consequence. Really awesome. I want it on iPad as well now. Chords, arps, sequences running 3 internal sound sources with 4 effects each, using the pretty big sound library it comes with, alternatively driving outboard things via MIDI. It's like a very very elaborate insta-song or insta-idea generator.

Thanks for the confirmation. Just heard about Flux:FX coming soon though, which seems to do something similar without a MIDI trigger.
Ahhhh decisions........I'll probably do what I normally do - have a few glasses of wine tonight, get sozzled and buy everything.
@ChrisG said:
That looks tasty - they do make some lovely stuff.
@monzo said:
They do! I've been so focused on iOS these past few years, plus my old DAW was basically kaput, so I'm kinda just recently discovering some of the other desktop stuff they've made.
@monzo said:
Lol. Yeah, that's why I hate sales. ;-)
I haven't looked too much at Flux:FX (mostly because I don't like to get really excited about stuff and have to wait), but you know that SugarBytes will probably run another sale some time in the future. So you could hold off.
As you drink your wine, contemplate whether it's better to have bought an app on sale that you don't end up using that much vs. buying an app at full price that you use all the time. :B
@ChrisG said:
Me too - I've been a bit obsessed with my iPad since I resurrected it a year ago and discovered AB, but I really should check out some of the new DAW stuff available, as my copy of Logic is feeling decidedly neglected..
@papertiger said:
Yeah - I bought Turnado in their last sale, and I don't really need Effectrix at the moment as I'm trying to get some proper music recorded. It'd only distract me with its funny noise levers and giggles.
@papertiger said:
I don't think I'd be able to contemplate anything that complicated after half a bottle of Vin de Tesco's and a tube of Pringles, I'll give it a go....though ultimately I'll cave in and buy them both.
@monzo said:
I'm going to try and be good and see how the release of Flux:FX goes before I jump on board. The "worst" thing about iOS apps is that every new release seems to push the platform forward a bit (or a lot, depending on the developer). So ending up with duds is part of the process.
Now I want Pringles. Also, Hoops are awesome. I don't know why they've never made is state-side.
@papertiger said:
coughiMPCPro/cough. I bought that one as soon as it was released, and was stuck with the sample saving bug for nearly a month so couldn't use it. Be interesting to see how much they want for Flux:FX. I want to support it though as I'm a fan of A. Belew, love his stuff with Zappa and King Crimson.
Paprika are my favorites, I might have some now...
Gave in and bought all the apps. Really impressed. I'd played with the computer versions before, but using them with a touch screen really opens them up, especially Turnado. Haven't played with Thesys yet, but I recorded a jam earlier with the Machinedrum running though Turnado, Effectrix, and WOW out to a KP3. Glitch madness.
I'll have to play with it a bit more, but the midi input with Effectrix is a bit annoying. I was sequencing it from the Octatrack, and the only way to get it to trigger a full 16-32 steps is to trigger a note at every step, otherwise it defaults back to the first step. Would be better if the sequence would play through as it receives clock/transport, or uninterrupted from note on until it receives a new note. This might be user error tho-I started getting some wicked sounds and wanted to record more than I wanted to troubleshoot .
I've managed to resist, surprisingly. If Effectrix didn't need the MIDI clock I would have nabbed that one, and already have Turnado. Only one that I might succumb to is WOW...though you can get a lot of similar stuff from Turnado if you fiddle with the effects editor..
Hmm, the clock is what's held me off buying effectrix, can you use Thesys to send clock and trigger the pattern keys with the step sequencer and is timing tight?
Nevermind, i upgraded Audiobus and with ARR and a midi interface i can integrate iPad to Live so i'm hoping that'll send solid sync to effectrix or any apps that require midi clock. Timing seems pretty good, i get 0.1 tempo drift using Thesys to drive other apps and external stuff.
@Accent it opens up things with Thesys, i never really gelled with the desktop version, too fiddly editing lanes with the mouse but on the iPad it's much more fluid navigating the interface. I'm using it with a stylus as well.
Figured it out, just needed to change the note length on the Octatrack sequencer when using Effectrix. Very nice-I'd been using the KP3 in a similar manner with my Elektrons, but you can trigger far more simultaneous effects with Effectrix to really get weird. Is there a way to set the midi note range Effectrix responds to? The keys in the app suggest it takes input starting on C3, but playing around on a keyboard it seems to respond to the same notes regardless of "pitch", so C3 and C4 trigger the same pattern. It would probably be more useful to me to only have it respond to notes running from C3-G3 or whatever, leaving the rest of the notes on a midi track free for other things.
Still have to try Thesys with it-might have been a wasteful purchase since I've already got powerful step sequencers with my hardware, but I guess having an iPad alternative is good as well.
