I just got DeeAcid for desktop and Love it: set a key, hit generate, drag n drop MIDI to DAW and piano roll-tweak to taste.

No drag and drop in the iOS version (and no direct midi out) makes that workflow more tedious on iOS tho

I had wondered about that - but Anickt with the solve:

Not tedious at all. Open DeeAcid folder in Files, export chosen file to desired app’s MIDI folder, apply to desired instrument.

  • Well, this was much better than I expected.

Wasn’t there another 303 synth app called (I think ) Square Acid? Seems to be gone from the App Store now

There was, and indeed it's gone from the appstore. Shame really.

I completely forgot about it until now

Same. I'm unsure if I even bought the app or not, because I used Troublemaker and Pure Acid more (and once I dug into FLSM back in late 2022, it also has a built-in 303-styled bassline).

Wow. Squaresynth 2 by the same dev is also gone. Why did he pull those I wonder? He is still listed as a dev on the appstore, so the reason is not that he didn't pay his dev fee...

Squaresynth 2 is gone too? That sucks. I liked that synth.

    Whoa…glad I have it already !!!

Glad this convo happened. Love those apps. I reached out and the dev said there was an agreement that was overlooked and it should be back soon. Relaying their thanks.

If I don't have Square Acid yet, I will purchase it to support the dev. Lucky thing they're super responsive.

Also thanks mate for checking in with the dev. (I didn't know where to contact them.)

Ok, I'm convinced now. I have to add that to my collection. The graphics and purple color add a fun factor to the nice sound. It will pair nicely with Shockwave:) All this purple makes me want to go out and buy an E-MU ML7....

I’m doing a 180 after the @thesoundtestroom video. I like the sound of it and it looks like a lot of fun for a tenner.. ToneStack here we come. Let’s buddy it up with Pure Acid and see what comes out 😃
It does need more scales and keys though.

  • Yes indeed… never judge a book by its cover etc. Talk about instant gratification - it’s just great. It sounds fantastic, it goes great with any number of your effects.
I actually think its quirks are a bonus in a strange way. I have bought many apps that I regretted and hardly get any use out of - this will absolutely not be one of them.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m just heading back to it 😀
