Fabfilter. Volcano3. Twin3. Timeless3 GET ‘EM! (They are in a bundle)
THESE ARE THE BEST things I’ve picked up in a long long time! The bundle is on sale until (or thru?) the 2nd. Not much time.
I’m telling ya tho, these apps are the apps to have! Volcano is insane!!! probably the only filter you need … and definitely a very creative tool.
Timeless… is everything! Delay, verb, modulation effects all in one. This and ODC are probably all I’ll reach for now.
Twin 3 is amazing as it gets on this platform. What a great sounding machine. I am mad i waited this long. If anyone says differently i need to question those ears 🤣 for real because this synth is the synth to have! You need to hear it in studio Monitors/headphones/speakers not the internal iPad ones lol.
This video is just me playing around with all 3 apps trying to get familiar nothing special or organized, but wanted to let you all hear it just doodling. Be careful n headphones at the end I ACCIDENTALLY SMASHED THE RESONANCE WAAAAY TO HIGH 👂
GET IN ON THIS SALE!

And I'm waiting for the video, lol. I gotta see your demo mate. (I have all three already thankfully, but I'm always curious to see how others use FabFilter stuff.)
Got them last year. No regrets, but they take time to master.
Its taking forever to upload 🤣 I’ll probably upload a small jam tomorrow actually using them in a real way but i just screen grabbed my doodle for the heck of it. Waiting on YouTube 😴 lol
Agreed. I recently acquired a Mini 7 with the minimal space I need (512gb) to produce music on it, and I'm just first grokking the FabFilter apps I most recently purchased but never got around to learning.
Bloody Youtube, rofl. 🤣
Man, they are going to be the main thing i reach for on iPadOS for a long time!
Nows the time to learn em! I never even knew volcano was a thing until yesterday lol but damn it might be my favorite effect now.
I've been leaning towards wanting to create Ambient and Experimental again and put Pop and EDM to the side for a bit. Probably do so in AUM using Koala for MIDI note sequencing. (It's funny how I initially put off Koala's MIDI Out update as a nothingburger, only to realise its potential for MIDI sequencing in AUM!) And I'm thinking Volcano and Timeless will get me some very wild effects, especially paired with Flux Pro (using it as an LFO controller) and Alteza for that sweet long-ass reverb effect.
Have you tried using an instance of timeless as a reverb? Its freaking cleeean and nice. Theres a few reverb presets that really are magic.
Do it man! Create some lil synthy ambient jams for us to hear!
And koala MIDI out changed every thing for me! Koala is already my fav app in human history and that just iced the cake. Its way to easy to build up a track with it… id like more editing but hey i can’t absolutely make it work for 90% of what i do.
I'll have to try that out mate! Actually, I will watch some tutorial vids on these three plugins first (doesn't matter if their iOS based or computer based as they are the same plugins on either platform, lol). I wonder if the Timeless presets would give the Quantec plugin in Logic a run for its money or not.
You know it mate. I used to create very, very excruciatingly long Ambient jams, but I think this time around, I will make them no longer than 10 minutes max so SoundCloud can recommend them to the right audience.
For my purposes, I'll most likely use Koala for basic sequencing in AUM. Shouldn't be difficult to do. I need to grok that too.
Meanwhile, I'm finishing up a vocal Pop/EDM tune I sing both in English and in Spanish, but honestly I'm not getting the creative satisfaction I want out of Pop and EDM lately like I did over the Summer. I think Ambient and Experimental will ground my creativity and reinvigorate it.
My first time opening these apps jam.
⚠️⚠️BE ADVISED I ACCIDENTALLY CRANKED THE RESONANCE OF VOLCANO NEAR THE END AND ITS EAR PIERCING AF! LOL: ⚠️ ⚠️
Twin 3 great video:
Volcano 3 great video: (must watch) volcano can make a whole drum kit with just white noise going thru it!!
I’m working on a lofi psychedelic ambient hiphop?? Ep. I think thats the genre lol. I say hiphop because of the drums, and the rest kinda molds around that. 3 min songs, cuz i can’t organize myself after that lol.
Mostly using koala myself.
Send me your jams when you get them posted up! Take a pop break!
Yeah, f-ck it. I'm putting my Pop song on the backburner and will dive into producing Ambient tomorrow, lol. Meanwhile I will check your videos.
I may be alone in this regard, but I prefer Toneboosters plugins over FabFilter. I find the FF UIs almost unusable due to the tiny graphical elements which make even simple things difficult to achieve quickly unless it’s already included in a preset. Also, some may prefer digging into controlling their sound down to the smallest elements, but I’m more focused on getting something that sounds good quickly and easily. Toneboosters helps me do that. Just my opinion.
I like both for different reasons.
ToneBoosters can sometimes have tiny graphical elements too (especially if on an iPhone), but you can use ToneBoosters on an iPhone as well as
an iPad.
I played with Pro-R2 recently, and I actually prefer ToneBoosters' reverb due to the fact it has a shimmer section. (Unless R2 has one as well and I simply didn't see it. 😅 Wouldn't be my first time I missed something in a plugin.)
Tone boosters is cool and quite nice!
I think that fabfilter clicks better with not me and i can control everything pretty well. I just feel more creative in their environment. Both with the GUI and the modulation.
I don’t get super complicated in most effects, but volcano 3 is really pulling me into the void lol its too amazing .
Both are great companies. I have flowtones which i don’t like but their effects are top notch
I’ve been hovering on this bundle since Friday. Timeless is the one that probably interests me the most.
Not really bothered about making a drum kit out of filters and white noise (this is basically how a drum synth works anyway right?) but I’m interested in what advantages volcano has over tb dualvcf.
I have twin 3 already and love it.
Saturn sounds like something I’d like too.
Edit: cos I already own twin, it was only £32. So I bought it. Thanks @reasOne for tipping me over the edge 😆👍
WARNING! 🛑 When you buy the FabFilters bundle, 80% of the other FX plugins will become redundant and obsolete. What's fantastic is that it not only provides professional sound quality for your work, but it also frees up extra space on your iPad when you delete countless unnecessary plugins. 🤭
Agreed. This is the best bundle. I use Timeless in everything, Saturn is a blast, and Twin 3 is a beast.
The Fab Filter modulation system is top class but I also don't really enjoy using those apps because of the fiddly UI. The Toneboosters UI works much better on iOS. Toneboosters doesn't have this kind of interesting modulation system tho, and the presets tend to be much less creative and inspiring than the FF ones.
I couldn’t get past the fact that fabfilter apps aren’t universal before. However, since Logic Pro, I’m finishing all tracks on iPad, so can swap apps for their big brothers (eg. BLEASS delay for Timeless) and get a bit more in depth.
I don’t think I need the fabfilter mastering plugins though as the ai mastering in logic does such a fantastic job, and I love Barricade if I was going to do it myself. Maybe pro q, but I’m pretty happy with the Toneboosters eq’s for now.
I'm interested in the Creative FX Bundle
Anyone uses Fab Filter plugins with the Apple pen? Does this work well?
I invested in GS DSP's great Quantum line (delay, distorsion, filter) cause the interface is better optimised for iOS while being somehow comparable to Timeless, Saturn and Volcano.
I wanted to spend some more money on GS DSP, but the bundles I'm interested in make no sense to me
They work flawlessly with or without the Apple Pencil, so there are no worries. After all, they represent the state of the art in the graphical presentation of audio engineering tools. No one else is even close, except for those who are trying to copy the FF UI logic. 🤓
People were complaining about the fiddly interface that is an exact copy of the VST. And my iPad Pro is only 11 inch
I can only speak for myself. I’m using them in a window no larger than a third of the 11" screen and have never had any problems, even when using my fingers. In fact, I’ve encountered more issues with the pencil, such as when browsing patches in Twin3. Additionally, my fingers are small, and I know what I’m doing. But Pencil generally helps a lot.
ok, thanks for the feedback on this!
Here, I can work comfortably with four FF plugin windows in AUM, and the font size is still larger than in Adudiomodern or BabyAudio plugins. 😌
The smaller dials have never stopped me from making a patch or ruined my creativity. Its the exact opposite, the interface and dials make me want to stay and hang out a while
The 2 bundles I’ve yearned to own are the two FF bundles.
Looks so good
