Producing Binaural Beats, any advice to get me started?
I did a forum search for "binaural", and I couldn't find anything about Binaural Beats. I suspect the forum search is still being cobbled together by Google, lol. So I am listening to something on Youtube with binaural beats in it, and even though it isn't making me sleepy per se, after 15 minutes I feel absolutely serene with a sense of peace and that "everything will be okay".
Honestly, while I love producing my EDM, Pop, HipHop, etc, I'm more wanting to get back into Ambient and Experimental creation again. (Whether you like Ambient and Experimental or not is personal subjective taste, and I don't wish to debate, lol. 😂 )
So, if you produce binaural beats in your music (especially if Ambient), what methods do you use to achieve the effect? I know pairing the binaural beat with some soft, gentle pads and shit will get me decent results, but it's in needing some advice how to get started with the binaural beats. Many thanks in advance.

I’m interested in this too
Good. We'll learn together mate.
Basically offset the frequency in right and left ear by the brainwave hz you want to hit. You can use all kinds of tones, though sines are immediately recognizable and efficient. You can modulate slowly over time to keep things interesting. The litmus test is simply whether you can hear the effect or nor. If you cannot, with headphones on, chances are your brain also cannot
Wait, it's that simple? Cool! Do you have any charts or something to help me understand which binaural beats do what?
Just google for brainwave, theta, delta, alpha. You’ll get a bunch
Nice! Will do mate.
You might want to check out monaural beats and isochronic tones as well. These work through speakers as well as headphones, unlike binaural beats which require headphones.
Remember you can get better search results by pasting site:https://forum.loopypro.com/ into Google followed by your search term btw!
Thanks mate. I'll look into those.
I thought that's what the forum search does automatically via Google. 😅 It puts in the search term(s) and the "site:https://forum.loopypro.com/".
Ah, true, I dunno, I saw Wim post sth about this, maybe I remember wrong. I'd use the search function to find out but... 😂
😂 Lol.
I think @Gavinski meant the old address ("site:https://forum.audiob.us/"). Which turns up a bunch of stuff, meaning my brain isn’t playing tricks - there’s been a fair bit of discussion on this previously.
I was just about to post that John yes lol
Jim, Google:
Binaural site:https://forum.audiob.us/
@bygjohn @Gavinski Ah! Okay I'll try that. Good looking out mates.

That worked a treat! Cheers.
@jwmmakerofmusic if you have Silo by Unfiltered that actually has a preset called binaural
No kidding! Thanks for the tip. I have Silo but never dug into it properly.
^this
Headphones are required for binaural beats to be of any use at all. Also, I think you pretty much have to have some sort of droning oscillator offset by a few Hz in the left and right channel, whereas with an isochronic tone you just need something that modulates at the Hz you want. That seems to me like it would be easier to get creative with and isn't dependent on a particular pitch.
That said, I don't know anything about creating actual music using binaural beats or isochronic tones. So take all that with a grain of salt.

BB17 synth will create binaural beats
Do you have a link for this app? I can't seem to find it on the app store.

I guess it's abandonware.
Either that, or it's not available in our country/ies. Shame really. Probably would've been a great synth to have otherwise. Then again, I have BFM (big f-ckin meters) and Twin 3 where I can use that to tune the binaural beats (or if I'm in NS2, Obsidian for my main synth).
guess it’s abandoned. It had disappeared from the App Store a while back, then reappeared. Looks like it’s gone again
