Lmao!
@yellow_eyez no metal making for me! I have played bass in metal bands But when I’m alone in my studio its more weird chiller synthstuff!
It was alright, i didn’t really get a lot time with it lol. But it was kinda just not my workflow, it can make some serious ambient sounds but once i got it i Just did not feel like learning the workflow and decided to let it fly. The workflow was not immediate and i watched some tutorials and just was not really in the mood for it anymore lol
You got great taste my friend
Maybe its because my ONLY brand is TE but the volca drum is a true classic
The sequencer is incredible, the drum synth is incredible, the features are incredible, its like a $500 machine for $150….honestly, i think it might be the best electronic drums out there besides the elektron and Arturia, but those are 5-7x the price and size……this is a battery operated mini drum machine powerhouse….in fact; i was going to sell it but now i am just going to keep it - plus @gravitas made the best midi controller for it in Drambo ever
I'm intrigued by the Strega, but I think I'm set with this much complexity, considering I can always add effects and other crazy stuff from my iPad. One more thing that (thankfully, for my wallet) gives my pause about the Buchla Easel is that audio and CV signals are kept separate, which is not something I have to worry about with Eurorack, and can actually lead to interesting results.
I'd forgotten about Branches, thanks for reminding me of it

Thanks man! I really like my current set up a lot!
There’s also a mosaic script for the volca drum similar to the web based one that OS made.
Have you used either? The web app is the best.. i need to try the mosaic one next!
But you are right the VD is amazing better than many I’ve tried. I have also been sequencing it with my digitone! Get a lot more out if it that way but i do love the on board seq too
My plans changed. I got an offer on my e-kit (Roland drums) so I sold those, sold my Sequential OB-6, paid off the Moog Muse and ordered a TE OP-XY.
Also, I forgot that earlier in the year I bought a Beetlecrab Tempera and I really enjoy it, it makes beautiful noises.
It's been a successful year for swapping instruments.
Same here, change of plans I decided against buying an Ableton Move, and went with (currently discounted) Maschine MK3, and holy shit this thing is awesome! Sure, it's just a controller, but it feels like a groovebox, with unlimited capabilities
In: Launchkey Mk4, Ableton 12 upgrade, more Fors Devices, Korg SQ1, 13” iPad Air M2, and a 14” MacBook Pro M4 Pro as my first ever dedicated music making computer - most during sales. I might squeeze in a Minifuse 4 in the new year sales then I’m sorted.
The Ableton, Launchkey and MacBook Pro combo have given my music a real boost, as the Launchkey really helps my limited keyboard playing, Live 12 has a whole bunch of new MIDI editing features, and the new Mac allows me to keep more MIDI instrument tracks on the go, instead of freezing and baking everything to audio. And now I’ve finally sussed out my IDAM issue, the 13” ipad connects perfectly to join in the fun.
Was tempted by the Move, Digitakt 2 and new Digitone, and more Eurorack stuff, but am trying to slim down my hardware usage (big outgoing gear sale in the new year), and I just love working on the ipad and Ableton.
