  • Is the iPhone a separate purchase? I have GR2 on my iPad, and the AppStore is showing its $34.99 on my iPhone.

  • Starts up with black screen and stays like that for me.. 🤷‍♂️ rebooted, deleted + reinstalled.. anyone else?
iPhone 8+ and an SE 2022

@wagdog Strange.. I was able to download without seeing anything like that.. I’m quite sure it’s NOT a separate purchase..

Classic issue with apps that have seen this treatment; you'll need to confirm the purchase and only then, when you've already committed to it, it'll tell you it's free because you've already bought it. It's bad enough for a $5 dollar app, in this case I would understand someone not taking the risk.

Well holy shit. 🤯 Binaural panning?! No f--king way!!

Oh yeah, and now it's on my iPhone?! Again, no f--king way! 🤣 I better port my drum samples over to this! Today is a great day.

Considering the post-purchase support I’ve had from Apple re: refunds, I’m very leery of this process.

Yeah, I'm rather disappointed. I was going to instabuy the iPhone version but got it for free instead. 🤣 (I'm being facetious.) In other words, this is a common Appstore error, and you just need to "purchase" the app. Then a message will pop up saying "you already own it, and can download it to your iPhone" or something like that.

(Side note - I wrote Mr. Pavloff asking if he has a Ko-Fi or some other way to send him a little money as "thanks" for all the great free updates.)

  • Lot of confusion over this

  • edited July 23

Yes it asks you to repay but as soon as you hit the pay button a pop up tells you it’s free.

It’s bonkers you can have this level of power in your pocket. They just need very low latency Bluetooth devices.

  • Does the new iPhone version work in portrait mode ?

    Nope it doesn't.

    Seems to be landscape only

  • Oh ok that’s strange

  • edited July 23

That was a really scary 'will I have to pay £34.99 again?' double tap on iPhone!

Jim should definitely add a VERY BIG NOTE to the app description and update description about the process.

amazing ... Jim is UI genius .. absolutely insane respect how well thought is iPhone design .. @jimpavloff :+1: :+1: :+1:

  • Crazy! Love GR2 (and Jim too, he’s a hero ❤️)

  • Ugh, as soon as I can get my past due; 21 buckaroos paid, then I can actually download this app (as I own it, but dug myself a hole with app hoarding, so I have to do the apple shuffle) but as soon as I get square, Jim, I got a donation for this update. And you deserve a break after this one.

  • Tried the AppStore again, and this time the purchase button was replaced with a cloud and download arrow. Pressed it and installed gr2 on my iPhone.

    Success!

    What an amazing app.

  • Yes gr2 on iphone.!!! its gonna be a fun day.

Without having to press buy? How did that work? It'd be interesting to have a documented workaround

Same on SE2. Anyone contacted the dev about this?

I had previously pressed buy, but didn’t purchase, just closed out the AppStore. The next time I went in, it briefly showed the buy button, then switched the cloud/download.

Not sure if I did anything to make that happen?

Thanks for the details, it seems like something worth trying, I'll try to reproduce it next time an app is made available in a new platform; if it works consistently it's definitely better than the alternative

  • So, I wrote Mr. Pavloff with a "thank you" letter. He let me know two things.

-He will include an optional "Support the Developer" IAP in the near future

-The iPhone SE bug fix is coming within a update soon

(By "soon", I mean a real Jim Pavloff "soon", not a Roland "soon". )

    Cheap shot there. :D
Btw, they said "early summer", but never mentioned:

    • if it was in the north or south hemisphere, or;
    • summer of which year.

    lol 😂

  • in the Drum Rack. is there a way to automated velocity, or do you have to drag velocity of each note to adjust ?
