Looks like it's coming soon. I wonder how soon for iPadOS. But looks very nice.
That sketch function to create the curve certainly looks interesting, but honestly I don't need this kind of thing anymore due to all of the built in function in Logic Pro. And I could see Apple creating their own version of that feature on their own.
This is gonna give soothe2 a run for its money! And i just bought soothe 2 on the holiday deal 🤣
If they ever iron out Logic Pro's many, many bugs. 😂 Not all of us use Logic Pro, so Pro-Q4 is right up my alley for me personally.
Soothe 2 looks quite lovely, but doesn't seem to have an iOS version yet.
So, I'm guessing Pro-Q4 it is for me personally, lol.
Pretty excited here. If this update is coming to iPad then the iPad music making world will have a tool like soothe 2. That would be quite remarkable.
TBProAudio DSEQ3 and Waves Curves Equator are both pretty damn good in this space already.
I have Sonible on desktop, I wonder how Pro-Q 4 will compare. Competition is good for us all!
I’d also like to see Sonible on iOS, but y’know.
Exactly. Gotta take what you can get.
iOS confirmed
That's good looking out. Thanks mate.
The cool thing about q4 is that you can scroll through ALL of the q4 instances as the song is playing to see how they are being mixed. SUPER useful.
I agree. That is extremely useful! Especially for me where I want to get things sounding clear in the mix.
A great tip on mixing to watch before spending any money
Dan is the man!
Looks like our threads were merged, Richard, lol. Another great video by Dan! I really like the new features added to Pro-Q4, including the "subtle" and "warm" modes for a bit of tasteful saturation. (Would eliminate the need for me to follow an EQ by a saturator.) I'm not sure how soon I'd get Pro-Q4, given I have so much functionality in Pro-Q3 already. (It all depends on the intro price.) But I certainly won't hesitate too long.
But I somehow feel that you'll want at least try using FF Pro-Q 4 as a 'Vocoder'
Noooooo. 😂 Now why would I do that? (I'm just fuckin around mate. Of course I'm going to try that out, even if not on my voice.)
Wow. That looks amazing.
I concur. Being able to group channels into a pinned group is sick. So all my bass in one group, drums another, arps, etc. Then i have another "bus" subgroup for tweaking busses while seeing all the other busses. Being able to spectral shaping per band, 👨🏻🍳💋
Does it do inharmonic suppression like soothe2? Now I gotta watch the video, because that is a tool that only hornet has on iOS! Now I might bite on proQ4. Okay gonna watch Dan school me…I love this guys videos anyways!
Okay INSTABUY!!! This is super good!
Dan is the best!
Got a chance to kick the tires on desktop and it's very slick. I think I still prefer Soothe2 for taming resonance. Pro Q4 "Spectral dynamic processing" sounds a bit grainy & with more artifacts, but all the other new bells & whistles are groovy. Will definitely be nice to have this on iOS.
The best EQ just got even better.
It's most definitely the most dope yet and ProQ will remain my go-to utility EQ. But that doesn't mean I'm going to retire my UAD and Softube EQ's any time soon. Whilst the saturation options add versatility to ProQ, the latest algorithms UAD and Softube have been implementing maintain their relevance even with the constant innovation from Fabfilter.
Whenever I have to build a new audio workstation, the very first suite of plugins I install is the full Fabfilter collection. I couldn't imagine life without them. The only modern plugin from Fabfilter that I'm a shade meh about, is Twin 3, but I felt the same way about Twin 1 & 2, so there's no change on that front!
Oh I love Twin3. It’s not my absolute favorite synth, but I have so many…
I would say my favorite synth is my Waldorf iridium
@MrSmileZ Holy shit that's an expensive synth, but it looks fun too. I'd like a go with it myself. Ah well, time to live vicariously through Youtube videos and have some fun with Microwave instead.
@jonmoore Twin3 is slowly but surely becoming my "bread and butter" synth outside of Obsidian in Nanostudio 2 (I plan to switch over to Cubasis 3, at least for a couple of tracks). It's really a semi-modular powerhouse, perfect for drones and other such things. Its built-in effects are really decent, and you can do so much with it. Is it as powerful as Drambo/miRack as an instrument plugin? Not really. But is it easier to grok? Sure is (at least for me personally once I saw Dan Worrall's video about it).
Just out of curiosity Jon, which synth on iOS is your favourite to use?
Looks great. Now all I need is Dan's ears to go with it. I hear music sounding bad, he does stuff incrementally where I can't hear the changes, then all of a sudden its sounding awesome. Very talented chap that one.
I wasn’t sure I really needed this, but Dan makes it look oh so nice. I wonder if they’re having any issues with the AUv3 memory limitations in iOS. I would think that the capabilities of this plugin might be testing those memory limits a little. Particularly when displaying multi instances…I know that i run into memory issues if I run too many instances of Q3 in Logic. I have had all the instances reset themselves.
Iridium is likely the most powerful hardware synth out there. It’s also a multi sampler. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves powerful synthesis and doesn’t get hung up on analog vs digital nonsense. Just the Kernel engine is mind blowing.
