Fender absolutely CRUSHED it with this - in fact, it’s SO good, I am considering selling the best amp on earth (axe fx 3) because this sounds good enough to me….and im not a tone head but this thing ACTUALLY sounds like The Fender Twin reverb , prince reverb, reverb deluxe, etc…the clean amps are so good, and the hi gain amps are incredible……

Im telling you there’s nothing else like this - headphone amp + interface+ tuner + amazing tone app + BT audio receiver+ USB C, etc…..no messy cables, no connections (besides one usb c to iPad), and no need to download or update anything [the 100 presets are created and edited using the fender tone app]

It’s an all in 1 solution, with no quality spared

    https://www.fender.com/en-US/guitar-amplifiers/contemporary-digital/mustang-micro-plus/2311600000.html

    It’s the best $120 i spent on guitar ….maybe ever….

There is another option: NuX Mighty Plug Pro
    https://www.nuxaudio.com/mightyplugpro.html

I wouldn’t compare Fender and NUX lol, There is something else called the Boss Katana Go, but it’s discontinued, and there is also the fender micro (non plus version ), and ofc the Vox ones…

Like I said, nothing else like this (at this level of quality, like from the device itself with the onboard controls, to the OLED, to the app ) - on paper the Nux is “better” than Boss, Fender, and Vox - I can assure you, it’s not , even though i must say it sounds like it’s sick haha I wouldn’t mind trying it but just like I disregard certain brands off rip I just the same wouldn’t compare Fender to an Ali express version, that’s all I mean

[and it’s reported the katana go is incredible too]

(I also wouldn’t recommend someone buy something I haven’t used, and while Nux is a decent alternative for the cheapest possible solution, I wouldn’t tell someone to spend $120 on a knock off basically when a better product I tried exists )

Fair enough. I'm long term user of Nux Mighty Plug (Plug Pro now) and have no love to Fender sound so I'm definitely biased  I saw Leon Todd's FMMPlus video and some tones are really great, some are nothing special. No IR support and what I've read on TGP thread you can't use compressor/OD/DIST together because there are in one group. No mention about USB latency (I'll let you know in latency thread when I have a chance to check it)
PS: I don't think Thomann would dare sell stuff with Aliexpress "quality" and they have this NuX on offer.

    Oh you’re a user!?
    Why didn’t you say so!
    That’s totally different man

I thought you were just tossing the name into the ring based on availability

But if you have tried it an it can reproduce IR well, then by all means, it’s definitely worth a look, as I said, on paper it is appealing to me

FWIW, I know the mustang micro uses mustang tone pro modeling algorithms which are really incredible.( I didn’t mean to diminish Nux on face value to invalidate your opinion) so I love the overall package of the plus, but nux definitely worth a try :)

    Thanks for mentioning it :)

PS NB also fwiw I look to these modelers now more for cleans than hi gain. The cleans of the fender are done really well , especially if you like fender. How does Nux reproduce hi gain, like mesa boogie rectifier ? If you get a chance please lmk how you like that ?

Here is a short sample of Fireman, DualRect and Die VH4 from my patches. The cab is an internal M1960TV (no external IR used there). Excuse my sloppy playing. As I get older, I need more and more time to prepare
    https://on.soundcloud.com/DVFQxfytngwCvR3L9

That sounds FANTASTIC - your playing was clean !

Shoot man, I might have to get one now and return the micro plus haha

Idk man it’s really good tones

nux is actually better than I expected

How’s the app? How do you like the interface and how is tone creation?

How long have you had it?

    Thanks :)

Don't give up so quickly, man
I'm using Mightier app which is better then original from NuX for my personal taste. UX is clear and also preset management is extended (preset categories). You can load 20 IRs to the device. The order of items in the chain can be freely changed. Import or export of patches via QR Code. You can also import audio file (backing track) into the Mightier app and set patch changes as markers into the timeline. Tone creation is easy, there is also undo/redo and A/B comparing.

This is fabulous. Im gonna hold onto the Fender, but hey, at least we know there IS a very very attractive and competitive alternative. The app sounds just as good as Fender Tone app. (Plus you have dry and reamping which is very cool)…..too bad my local shop doesn’t stock the Nux.

We should do a tone face off; if I can get an “exact model” for the fender amps, you can load an IR of the cab/amp assuming you have or can get it easily ofc, and see how they compare tone wise.

2 Years now!!!! Wow I have been out of the loop…was the app always that same configuration or did it evolve into what it is now?

Thanks for taking the time to answer and post some clips

As much as I love my Line 6 Sonicport, I just bought the Fender Micro last week. It’s going to be great.

You’ll absolutely love it - I’ve never been more sure of a recommendation in my life as this is a pretty singular product.

Did you get the standard or did you spring for the OLED screen plus? IMHO it’s so worth the extra $30

I’ve had both and totally agree the Plus is worth it. Apart from the App that allows full customisation, and the built in tuner, the Plus also supports bi-directional audio over USB (which the original didn’t).

Get a long USB cable and plug into your DAW/Looper of choice - priceless… 👍

How does it do with acoustic piezo input?

I only noticed yesterday while checking Midi guitar 3 beta out, but the JOYO cab thing seems to persistently have direct monitoring on - is that the case for everyone / is there a way to turn it off?

I actually used it with my phone in a jam last week, but it was all so loud and crzy that I never picked up on it (I was using a lot of distortion so it must have drowned out the clean signal or something)
