Your 2025 App Wishlist, and What Are You Thankful For?
This is a sister thread to this thread here.
https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/63633/what-are-you-waiting-for-to-finish-off-this-year#latest
So, the point of this thread is to share your wishes for apps that aren't currently being developed for iPadOS but rather currently only exist on laptop/desktop.
I've been watching S1gns of L1fe's channel on Youtube (amazing Ambient producer whose videos contain many tips and tricks), and he often features synths created by a company called Dawesome. These synths are perfect for Ambient and give me severe GAS. 😂 Especially Kult and Myth. And in a frenzies moment of GAS, I contacted Dawesome and asked if they'll port their synths to iOS. Now it's time to await a response.
Another thing I wish is we had a binaural 3D surround panner. I don't just mean 360º at one height but rather can be adjusted "up and down" besides "around the head".
What I'm thankful for is we have Baby Audio's Atoms. I'm also thankful for Toy Box Audio's synths. Fractal Bits is also becoming a favourite for glitchy rhythmic sounds. Also thankful for Drambo, which the more I learn it as a groovebox, the more I become enthralled with all I can do within it.
Comments
I’d like to see Aalto synth, portatron studio, oi grandad, and all of Giorgio Sancristoforo’s plug-ins, oh and Reaktor, that way we can get scapeshift!
Everyday I check for Caleum Audio's news, don't see this changing in 2025
I don't really have a wishlist right now but, I'm thankful for AUM, I wouldn't be making music if this wonderful piece of software didn't exist... @j_liljedahl
Lumbeat drummers AUv3
Loopy Pro MIDI recording
JamOrigin MIDI Guitar v3
Jonathan Bell's Riffler (chords) MIDI In
just battalion, thanks
Well, FWIW: I'm grateful for the big things right now. That this forum is going, as it is a wealth of collective knowledge, especially for me who has been away for a couple of years, but now am back and trying to catch up on what has happened whilst I was away.
I'm also grateful for Logic Pro on iPad, which basically is what made me set up my music creation space again. Fantastic piece of software (yeye price blablabla but for me it's definitely worth it). Finally a DAW without a boatload of other compromises, where I can set several time signatures in the same song. In fact, Logic is so fully loaded I notice I don't have to use quite a bunch of my other effects apps etc. I'm well impressed.
I've been doing a re-exploration of what apps I have, what no longer works, what has been updated to actually work if it didn't when I last used it etc. Great fun, though I notice some apps haven't aged all that well in this AuV3 era.
This however brings me to my wishlist which right now still is having a "amazing drum sequencer" on it, to fill the gap of DrumPerfect Pro (which actually is still usable as an app but oh-so-tedious to get in to a workflow in Logic Pro). An easy to use yet (very) advanced in features drum sequencer that can emulate real drummers, much like Superior Drummer/Steven Slate/Addictive Drums etc for desktop. Unless I've completely missed something obvious there isn't one. Yet. Yes, I know of OneShot and DigiStix 2. But those are basically sample holders (which isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong) but it doesn't make it easier to quickly whip out advanced drum sequences with those samples.
Also on my wishlist is Midi Guitar 3 for iOS, and I also wish for it to work well in Logic (MG2 is...cumbersome...), but I hope that is coming during 2025.

Would love this. Lightweight visual waveforms.

Thankful for;
New (2024) Apps
Still in heavy rotation
Also thankful for
Is it too early to say Happy New Year?
Im confusing threads but I’m thankful for
Cubasis 3.7 and Iconica sketch - 1 ring to rule them all
I also love Klevgrand releases especially One shot!
I love auto fills by Cem olcay
Solderbox is a bram release so it’s always welcome
[ also thankful for finding ns2 and n-track]
I got into AUM and LOOPY PRO big time this year and I appreciate them more and more
What I want for iOS is
Some kind of midi drum generator, specifically for metal
What I mean is this
The way octachron or dc OR PLaybeat will generate patterns for EDM?
I want something to do that for rock/metal with genre specific fills , and cohesive transitional arrangements
So you know how you can type to AI “make an image of a shark swimming up a waterfall?” -I want to be able to type “make an intro, followed by a verse. Followed by etc” and then it will generate it
So kind of like AI generated DRUM tracks in full song mode aided by literal words
Also playbeat 4 looks like it might be the ticket in terms of Edm but I want something for metal and rock ( @LuisMartinez )
That’s never an easy one Jim. I guess what id really like to see is a really good DAW that checks all the boxes that everyone posts from time to time (and for it to not be subscription).
Great thread!
I'm thankful for Atoms, as well. I thought maybe the honeymoon period would wear off, but I'm still pulling it up. I love the depth of sounds - the movement within sounds.
I'm also thankful for Modnetic - great combination of reverb and delay.
/and of course, Loopy Pro, which is my main platform
There was talk of MusicLab bringing their guitar instruments to iOS that I was hoping for but it never happened.
Riffler was supposed to get a midi in update but I read on a Riffler thread that the developer was working on some freelance projects and hoped to have more time to work on it back in September.

I'm thankful for MidiStep. It's one of the deepest apps I've ever worked with as far as randomization is concerned. It's what I hoped Thesys by Sugar Bytes should have been but even better. And the developer has continued to make it better with every update.
Elastic Drum auv3
More modules like modulars ex noise engineering
More Synth with macros oscillators
Thx
I picked up an obscene amount of apps this year, there’s a long list of apps I’m thankful for, the most important being:
But the list is endless
No particular wants for 2025 here.
I’ve bought fewer apps this year, for a variety of reasons, but mainly I think I have clearer idea of what I’ll click with and use than I had previously. Plus with prices going up (quite rightly), I’m less inclined to buy apps just to try them out. I need to have a feeling that I’ll get some extended use out of an expensive app.
That said, highlights for 2024:
My big wish is one I’m pretty sure won’t come true, which is Arturia porting their plugins to iOS. I’m thankful that iOS/iPadOS music making remains a vibrant ecosystem where incredible collaborations like Solderbox take place. And, of course, for each one of you on this forum. Cheers all.
I’m thankful for this forum, and all the great tracks people share here.
My wish for 2025 is the noire piano on iOS.
Seems most of my wishes are pinned on GrooveRider 2 and, what it ‘may’ be able to do.. importing MiDi is huge.. its audio sampler capabilities (transpose, time-stretch etc)..
Anything Lumbeat.. and a good Phrase Arp for iOS.. PhraseBox iOS..
Moving slow but from what i was told…it’s still on the table
My lips are sealed 🤐 🤣
Highlight of the year: OneShot. I can't say the bundled samples are sufficient (yet to add my own), but anyway we've finally got a comprehensive solution for acoustic drums on the iPad. It was the glaring hole in the field of iPad music.
Wishlist:
This year has been wild on my iOS production journey
In a combo of hardware and software, here's a quick rundown of how I perceive time
Jan/Feb got SMC-Pad and SMC-Mixer. Began finger drumming and trying to figure out drum emulation on iOS, settled on AudioLayer and Drumdrops. Got comfortable with kit style layout
May, picked up Launchpad X. Wanted velocity sensitivity with more than 2 octaves with zero permanent setup space, so portability is must. Modded case with holes and velcroed battery and M-Vave Bluetooth adapter. Portable! Add the SMC-Mixer for total swam control on a physical grid (velocity keyboard was my go-to for screen play... This made it tactile)
Then OneShot comes out in Sept and blows my mind

I've also learned a LOT about sound design. Numbers of you here have helped me SO much, from niche questions and concepts to too many times I should have just rtfm (and I should have! And probably still should! 😅)
This year I've really started understanding so much more of basics to advanced, to what I hear or want to hear... Honestly the creative side has gotten tougher since I have so much more to process -- but also easier as I'm now (finally) getting more reflexive with my everything I'm using! (Hardware buttons, knobs, and sliders also add to the reflexive ease, as I've also really learned)
Envelopes, synth design basics (getting base sounds that are pleasant to my ears), eq, compression, limiting.... All complete gibberish to me before 2024
I still don't understand it all, but it's getting there!

Notable moments of this year in apps
Last year Black Friday, I dove headfirst into Swam. This year, it's GeoShred (got Control for free, then snagged the Pro upgrade for $10. Can't complain about that! And man... As a big Velocity Keyboard proponent... After a bit with GeoShred, that's one hell of a controller and package. May or may not have double dipped on Swam with plans for Nada VERY soon...)
I also FINALLY picked up both AUM and Drambo (Black Friday this sales this year) - while I haven't done anything with AUM yet (I'm a loopyboi), the bit I've gotten into Drambo (...and of course, the
falling into patchstorage to see possibilities) I completely understand the love
I feel like between that and Mozaic, one could completely take over the world
And speaking of 'finally understanding the love' -- Other Desert Cities is godlike. Another oft recommended reverb... Yup, I see why
There are definitely more MUCH more that are in regular use - retro piano, stringlab and neo soul studio and a few other synths I'm learning. Random effects and other goodness... Prism sequencer and it's launchpad support...
Omg forgot Revolv and Iconica Sketch (because they're so recent, but both soooo good)
And... Well, ScratchBud just dropped today. Can't say how good it is yet (about 15min of messing with it before I had to go to bed) but I think I'm gonna have some fun with that!

So a sincere thanks to all you awesome people here. For help learning, supportive words on tracks, YouTube support, keeping this place running smooth, aggregating all the amazing deals id certainly miss otherwise, and for making the brilliant loopy pro and this forum for us all to congregate... and just being damn cool people all around
So much inspiration and goals to work towards from all of you. Id say it's intimidating, but you're all such fucking teddy bears! 🤣🤣
Much love to you all from this bumbling button-tapping knob-turning beatboxing old fart ❤️❤️
For the search algorithm.... Gladstone is also an acoustic drums AU, not just OneShot.
Wishes:
Better midi handling/routing in Cubasis. Also, scaled piano roll. Desktop does this.
Auv3 support in Gadget. Also the ability to merge projects.
The Dawesome synths are great but really hungry for CPU. I’d like to see his Love effect plug-in though.
Thankful.. I’ll have to break protocol and be thankful for Bitwig. It’s a rabbit hole full of treasures.
Wishes: No more ‘you can do this in Drambo’ 🙏🏻
Have you found something it can’t?
😂😂😂💀
More cowbell still OK?
😁
/DMfan🇸🇪
For 2025 i just want Grooverider 2 fucking ASAP :-) That’s all i want from 2025 in terms of iOS apps.
For 2024 i am thankful for:
Scaler 3… 🤞
And Loopy Pro 2 👍
