  • @DMfan Hi! You recently wrote about sampling the K2000 in one of the ios apps. Do you mean Audiolayer or something similar?

  • Finally turned on Kurzweil. It booted on the third try) the battery was completely dead. Connected via MIDI via a wire to the iPad. Works only with the old iPad Pro 2017. Doesn't work with the iPad Pro 2021. Can anyone tell me what the reason might be?

Hey man! Personally I would use audio tracks in my DAW to sample a hardware synth, but any sampling app will do. The means matters less then actually geting stuff done!

  • @DMfan Hello! Thank you for your answer! I understand what you are talking about. I have already read the topic and now I know that there are different types of sampling and for different purposes. I will try.

When I connect it to the old iPad, it sees the device and shows the name of the connected midi cable on the screen. But when I connect it to the new iPad, nothing happens. It doesn't see it.. Maybe something needs to be enabled in the ipad settings? I can't find the reason

What hardware are you using to make the connection?

@espiegel123 Good morning! CME U2 MIDI cable (maybe USB 2.0). Could it be incompatibility with thunderbolt 3? I connect it through the ugreen hub

Are the two iPads running the same OS version?

How is it connected to the iPad with which it works?

You might want to contact CME support

No, both iPads have different OS versions of course. The old iPad is no longer updated, but the new one is now supported and has ipados 18.2.1. I connect the old iPad, which works, via an Apple adapter

It could be either OS or hardware related. Maybe CME can advise you.

I've seen Apple regularly remove or break support for certain hardware in iOS updates, then enough people complained, then they brought it back in some later iOS versions. A classic.
Anyway, definitely worth reporting to CME as well.

@espiegel123 @rs2000 Hi! I already wrote to CME and they responded right away. They said that this cable will not work with the new iPad Pro. A new cable with the "pro" prefix is needed. Most likely the reason is hardware, not software. We live in the times of super-speeds, when what was bought yesterday does not work today 😂. Now I'm thinking about getting a new midi cable or a midi Bluetooth adapter. In fact, I have a Korg nanokey studio and I feel this delay when it is connected via Bluetooth. When it is connected via USB cable, it is more pleasant to play.

Wow, I didn't expect that. Good to know, thanks!
