That sketch app shows ads on opening despite unlocking. What kind of info do app makers get, when you unlock their app on the store?
I don't think app makers get any info. The app itself can ask the store what its status is, that's how "Restore Purchases" works. So the ads you see result from app web requests.

They’re such great apps - top 10 devs in iOS music for sure. I haven’t dug into the compression app too much, but Echo Flower, GhostChorus, and Pulse Ripper are go-to plugins.

Metronome Tuner - Practice Pro, the music widget app with be grandfathered in with the new update/subscription model. So feel free to update you will have full access.

Yeah, exactly, this has been happening more and more and it’s hard to find out if you are “grandfathered in” unless it’s explicitly mentioned. Recently I’ve emailed a couple developers in an effort to find out before I update an app that is changing pricing models.
To this developers credit the response was super fast, like maybe 90 seconds fast, and they assured me it was ok to update, I will have full access, and if any issues occurred they would be resolved. So I updated and everything worked great.
Developer Joe LeBlanc also mentioned “More good stuff coming. Some decent performance improvements in the next update. And then some new widgets and features following that….” so that’s cool too.
