Does anybody know if Davinci Resolve Studio for iPad has ever had Black Friday discounts?
Not that i recall, but cant say for sure. Since its free with an IAP to unlock, and I'm not aware of any resources that track IAP pricing over time, only someone that actually saw the sale would know.
I will say a lot of sales will be happening in the next 2 months, so if you can wait until the new year, this is probably the best chance to catch a sale. If i see a sale I’ll be sure to post it.

Yes there are actually a lot of alternatives. Thats a new app so not sure how well it works, but Some apps are even specifically made for learning guitar sections. Let me dig some options up for you..

Many of the Audio editors have this feature, if you already own one, Twisted Wave, WaveBox, AudioTweak, EZ Audio Cut Lite, etc..
You could possibly use something like Koala, PaulX, Dawnbeat, or another app that has these features.
There are some decent free web apps that could do what you are looking for too…
