  • I need to explore this app to be honest. Seems like it will lend itself perfectly to my Ambient fodder.

    Are there any IAPs?

app store description has no mention of IAP's. When it originally came out few years ago, the base app was free, with one IAP to get the plate reverb if I remember right. Now it appears to be 19.99 US.

the thing is, I never purchased the original IAP years ago, yet I was able to update just now and it appears to have full functionality....

Yep, chatted to the dev, they decided not to do an iap with this one and to let all previous buyers of the app (whether they'd bought the old iap or not) get the new version for free. A decent move, I reckon.

Gladly surprised. Kudos to the devs.
I loved Lunar Lander for the reverb, sounds amazing. And now I also have the 3rd xl plate size option, which was an IAP. Happy me.

    Maximised in AUM on iPhone.

is it still small like this on iphone?

  • Kudos to the dev for the quick fix and the free download for previous owners. My IAP never worked, so I’m happy it all works now, plus the additional stuff. Great redemption 👍

Yes, still not full screen but has moved to the middle 🤷🏼‍♂️
From what I understand it’s hassle to accommodate different phone layouts. Have some other apps like this.

  • My demo made before the presets fix update

  • This thing has always sounded magical, but the preset fix that supposedly came through—are we still meant to tap into a Factory Presets folder and select, say, “Big Prophet.P930Preset” without being able to audition it first?

That can’t be right, can it?

  • Although I had purchased the Lunar Lander IAP back in 2021, the app store wasn’t giving me the option to update for free so I contacted the developer who responded almost immediately with a workaround.

This question had me thinking. So, I had to go and have a look. As a random selection I tried Eventide Blackhole - there is no pre audition of the sound. From what I can see it just loads it straight in. I’m pretty sure this is normal behaviour. I have tried the same thing with the FabFilter plugins - same result. Open to discovering the plugins that do - it could be handy. Previews of sounds happen if I am listening for a sample in a sampler, but I’m not really aware of too many FX plugins that don’t just load the effect directly in when I tap the name of the preset.

It needs a few changes, I think, and definitely needs some preset scrolling arrows. Currently, trying to demo presets requires far too many taps, it’s extremely tedious to go through the presets using the current system. Also, when you tap back into it, it doesn’t highlight the preset currently being played. The devs could definitely still work on this, it’s a great sounding app, but it has a subpar preset system for sure.

  • It sounds amazing Doug. Good choice of sources.

I like the twinkling stars in the new UI as well. Nice touch! ✨

  • Yes, @Mountain_Hamlet, “preview” is a misnomer. (That would really be something if an effects app could offer a preview without any source material!)
@Gavinski is correct in diagnosing the lack of preset arrows. It is hardly a dealbreaker, and it makes me realize how actually lazy it is to just scroll through presets to curate a sound rather than diving in and truly learning what every knob does.

On the other hand, what's wrong with being lazy? In the immortal words of Jack Handey:
It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.
