SX1000 - Analogue Synth by AudioThing (Released)
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sx1000-analogue-synth/id6739143757
SX1000 is a faithful emulation of the JEN SX1000, a vintage Italian synth released in 1978.
The SX1000 was one of the earliest affordable analog synthesizers, designed for musicians seeking hands-on control without breaking the bank.
We have carefully emulated the SX1000’s M110 chip, and also expanded its capabilities by adding features like polyphonic mode, a sub-oscillator (down to -3 octaves), and additional controls for legato modes.
We’ve also integrated an arpeggiator borrowed from a vintage classic polysynth and enhanced the sonic possibilities with four effects featuring flexible routing.
Available as AUv3 and Standalone

Sooo lush....amazing work! Thx Audiothing!
The description on AppStore says this synth is 4+ yrs old. Huh?
Weird, haha, definitely not.
Yes, sounds great, right!
I think that's the age of the target audience, not the app
Correct
Omg...still tweaking around and playing arps! I had the chance to hear a real one back in time and Im just amazed. The whole architecture is amazingly reproduced ( which is a very simple one btw) ...but hey...we all know where the "honey" comes from
I’m quite impressed so far
Love it! This will take the place of several existing synths in my collection.
I have a full tutorial going out tonight a 8.00 pm U.K.

At $12.99 this looks like a steal.
How’s the DsP/CPU on this one? Relatively speaking, based on your device, session size, and in relation to other apps. How would you rate it? Heavy, mid-heavy, middle, mid-light, or lightweight.
It certainly sounds in better shape than my original which needs it’s pots cleaning.
Y’all are right, sounds fantastic, thank you for the heads up!
Seems to be very light weight
I'm glad you are liking it guys! The SX1000 was my first analog synth and I really thought it finally deserved a proper emulation
That's a pain, I have to clean it every time I want to play with it.
Very much in the vein of the TAL Juno.
Yes it’s just shy of half a century, I keep meaning to sort them out, not the best keys but a simple and beautiful sounding synth especially with a little analog overdrive on an analog mixer.
I know you tend toward the obscure and under-appreciated in your sound making apps, but would you ever consider offering a Simmons Drums or Oberheim synth emulation?
Unfortunately, I've never owned a Simmons or Oberheim, so it's unlikely.
I wasn't that interested in this app but at the very end of Doug's "Sound Test Room" video (after he says "goodbye") he goes through a few of the presets and they sounded great. That got me a lot more interested in the app.
May I suggest that when you release your apps you put up a video showcasing the presets. Might help sales. And not difficult to do either.
BTW: I'm a big fan of your iOS apps and have quite a few. Keep up the good work!
Understood. Thanks for continuing to do what you do for musicians and sound designers.
@audiothing the SX is just the iOS synth I’ve been looking for. Similar to my first synth, the Roland SH1. Thanks!
This synth is awesome! Well done @audiothing ! Will be using this sometime tomorrow in a track.
Thank GOD you owned a JENSX. I super appreciate this emu.
Forza Italia🏎️🎹🛵
Magic work by
🚀
This app is one of the purest examples of analog on iOS, very commendable.
What other vintage hardware do you own? Wurly and Philicorda are fantastic too.
Yes, this is a very good idea indeed. I'll try to showcase the presets next week. Thanks!
Thanks! The next emulation is going to be an old Organ/Strings machine. We are also working on a Juno 60, that's why we included the arpeggiator in the SX1000, and more instruments and of course also effects.
Wow, your Juno will be THE app to watch out for in 2025.
