Wow you guys get real creative, it's inspiring! I will definitely get back to this when I'm more advanced!
I've finally settled for Pure Acid until Battalion comes out. It almost ticks none of the features I was looking for (lol), but it has a sound quality and immediacy that is quite fun. I feel that Drum Computer and Battalion would be too similar, and that Pure Acid would be more complementary to Battalion.
@oscillotus Battalion will not tick all your boxes. Seems like it doesn´t have a midi triggered pattern bank, and I don´t think it´ll generate fills either. It has a "Fill" parameter in the euclidean sense.
Could add auto fills from cem olcay
Or from Drum Computer midiFX
Or a pair of rubber drumsticks on your iPad screen 🥁😃
Hehehe!!
The pattern banks don't need to be midi triggered, for now the pattern banks seem sufficient from what I saw in videos. A good variety of patterns combined with creative sounds, seems perfect as starting points. Correct me if I'm wrong about this!
And yeah, the fill feature is a nice to have, but I think I can get around by just randomnizing a part. And there seem to have a few buttons in the Perform view that could create the variations I'm looking for as well. I played a bit with the fill function in Drum Computer, and I find it a bit hit or miss... I guess I got spoiled with Lumbeat fills which I find always on point!
Thanks for pointing out tho, I appreciate!!
This could indeed be an option in the end! I'll keep it in a backpocket
