Awesome!
@sinosoidal i was curious if you guys at Imaginando have had a look at the Torso S-4 granular effects box…and if there was a way of using the GRfx to replicate some of its functionality.
This granular space is new to me so I’m using my ears and heart a lot to determine what i want to be hearing cascading over me.
Loving GRfx a ton so far. I am getting lost in the deepest parts of infinite space.
Oh cool. The lack of randomiser was the one thing that had me sitting on the fence.
For what it's worth, I think it's super enjoyable to learn to dial things in in this, and not that hard. This kind of effect definitely lends itself best to being used intentionally.
Agreed… pretty easy to figure out, yet still deep and fun to get lost in
The randomiser can help with this process of learning ... when a randomised patch throws up something unexpected, I go in search of the settings that are causing the effect I'm hearing, and this ferreting around to find the source of something often helps me learn things more deeply.
Also, the randomiser can always sit there unused when a more hands-on approach is more helpful
I ❤️ 🎲
Word!
Oh yes, I’m totally down with a good randomizer! I was just agreeing with Gav about the app ALSO being a joy to experiment and dial in from scratch
Randomizers are like presets- a suggestion for a new direction and a map for how to get there.
I love this plugin and have been using it a lot since I got it, but the UI is very sluggish in Logic on a 12" M1 Pro.
Try to disable the harmonic triangle animation under Menu -> Settings. Please see if that helps.
It's a bit better, but still quite slow. When I open the plugin (even with the harmonic triangle animation disabled) the UI scales very slowly, and can't decide whether to display the bottom part for about 10 seconds. Then if it only shows one half of the controls, pressing the arrow switch to show the other half is also very slow.
That's very wicked. Here in the office we all work with M1 computers and none have a similar problem.
Yeah that sounds very weird, I'm also on M1 pro, but 11'. Nothing like what you describe, UI renders instantly on change. Maybe do a fresh re-install of the plugin.
Hey Nuno, no reply on my suggestion to have a neutral mode (no scale/chord mode) for the harmonic triangle, this is a reminder 😉🙃 Is it a strange idea?
Force-quitting Logic and reloading the project fixed the issue. So with the animation off performance is now much better - thanks for the tip.
I found this thread too late to get into the beta, but I’ve been reading it with great interest. Re the harmonic triangle, is it possible to set it to use intervals finer than semitones (ideally, commas)?
@become you can set the intervals to “free” mode which gives you two decimals
@timfromtheborder - thanks, perhaps a bit fussy to change, but that'll do it..
It's only a simple little button press to switch between free and quantised, I can't really see how it could be easier tbh!
The button press is quick; I meant setting precise comma values based on 2 cent intervals - or could the values be stored in a preset?
Sure you could save them as part of a preset, but I think it's pretty quick to just drag til you get your desired pitch, you wouldn't be entering these by text. Just tap free, then adjust the knob til it sounds right!
