FUGUE LOOPER - Loopy Pro 2.0 sequencer
Some of you may have seen my Drambo patch where I built a Fugue Machine-style sequencer rack. Unfortunately, despite being amazing at almost everything, I couldn’t get Drambo to behave how I wanted. Enter Loopy Pro 2.0…
This was inspired by Alexandernaut’s Fugue Machine Rubato. To be honest, my template is quite limited in comparison! If you like it, I recommend checking out FMR because it can do much, much more.
MIDI in Loopy Pro 2.0 is a game changer. For this template, I used Drambo to record MIDI CC from a graphic modulator into MIDI clips, which in turn control the playhead of each track. Once I have the CC recorded, there’s no need to keep Drambo around—everything is contained inside the template.
You can download it here: https://patchstorage.com/fugue-looper/
The standalone works great, but I really like using it as an AU in, of course, Drambo. Enjoy!

Well done!! Thank you for sharing 🤘🏽🙏🏽
Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for creating and sharing!
I love seeing how different people utilize these practically limitless apps
Note: it requires the Loopy Pro beta test version, and will require the updates purchase once 2.0 is released.
And before it's asked ...
No there isn't a release date yet for 2.0. It seems like it's real close, but that's no guarantee.
Wow, a work of art @timfromtheborder! Thank you for sharing them ✌️
Yes, it is stunning.
Not to mention that it's customizable as well.
This is truly an example of next-level creative use of Loopy's feature set.
I made a small update, adding a neat feature: clip scrolling. Excuse my noise 😋

This is so cool!
Mind altering cool. A whole new branch of potential that I ha never considered about Loopy.
Super Cool! Thanks
Very cool! Was able to get it loaded in AUM, loaded in some MIDI clips from helium, but can’t seem to figure out how to route it to any instruments. No biggie, having a blast in standalone. Cheers!
@Squishy you need to put a MIDI Out in the destination of the colour you want to route out.
This will show up when you load Loopy as a MIDI AU. Then you can set the channel as well.
That’s the ticket!
@timfromtheborder this is awesome! Thanks for the share!
Unbelievable, @timfromtheborder — you're a legend!
Put a little ambient tune together featuring the great Alan Watts. Using the template inside Drambo lets you do cool stuff with the output, like running clips through Latch and Arp modules.
I’m thinking about creating a single-clip version of the template to use as an all-purpose sequencer. Stay tuned…

That was lovely, and thanks for the Alan inspiration! Dunno how I never thought of running Watts through humanoid haha
Thanks @Squishy . Alan Watts always sounds good… instant profundity lol.
Damn you @timfromtheborder ... I just have to check this out, ergo: reinstall LoopyPro which I loudly dismissed as too hard for me. _ just a little peak_
Jokes aside (the damn you thing) this looks absolutely awesome. Thank you for your generosity and congrats on being so inventive.
By the way, there is a library of pre-built looper projects on Patchstorage that are more or less ready-to-use:

If you have trouble getting started, we can probably help you.
You are a wizard!
Working on a new twist to the concept. What if you could record your own playhead automation, just by moving your finger?
Just brilliant!
Thanks Robin!
Here’s a vid where I record some automation and quickly come up with some interesting variations. I think it would be cool to have a few pages with this on it, maybe 4 total, and include the preset automations from Fugue Looper. Would be pretty complete at that point. Until I get another idea…
+1!!
I can only repeat my last post - just brilliant! Wonderful tool you’ve created there.
@timfromtheborder Amazing Dude! This is top shelf crazy shit.. Using Loopy like this is blowing my mind.. like.. hmmm.. what else can you do? Thanks for being so creative + sharing all this.. 🙏
@timfromtheborder Will you marry me and make me new creations like these every morning for breakfast?
Did you upload this version to Patchstorage by chance?
Not yet, but I will eventually. I think this will become the new version of Fugue Looper. So watch this thread 😌
