  • Oops. Sorry Pichi, and thanks Syrupcore. Note to self -''read the #'kin post properly''.

Stochastic maybe, you can load in your own sounds and set probability, Hope you find something that works for you.

  • Found what I was looking for. A little app called DrumsLive — it has multisampled drum sets and virtual midi so I can program it in MTS. Hope they keep adding kits.

If you are just going to drive drum sounds from a MIDI sequencer, I think the kits in SampleTank are excellent.

Have you been able to get virtual MIDI to control SampleTank since the latest update? The program changes don't work for me any more when sent from iMIDIPatchbay.

  • @thatsRayor, some MIDI sequencers are working, and others are not with SampleTank drum kits. Funkbox and DM1 do not work with SampleTank right now. Cubasis, MoDrum and S4-RComposer do work with virtual MIDI. I haven't tested anything else.

One downside to DrumJam currently is the lack of user-customizable kits, although that will be added in a future update. But otherwise, definitely worth a shot :)

This sounds very exciting. I'm gonna delete all the other drum apps once this update arrives. Great news.

  • 1000 plus for Session Drummer :)

  • Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and a casual drummer. I am a sole/indie iOS developer and I am working on an app called DrumKnee 3D. It is still in the early access phase but I would like to know if you could check it out and provide feedback (good or bad ;)). The cool thing about DrumKnee is that you can rest the iPhone/iPad on your foot and the device will detect when you hit your foot on the ground, so it feels natural to play the bass drum. The link to the App Store is: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1241682795?mt=8 You can find a couple of youtube videos I posted recently showing how it works:

Ah, not sure as I've never used Superior Drummer. I would still stick with my DrumJam suggestion. It's a repository of great drum samples (done specifically for that app), with some really cool editing features in the "bedlam" mode, and there is no user-based sequencer on board (but you can trigger the sounds via-MIDI). The dev for DrumJam is active on this board and very helpful, too!

    Ditto.

    DPP as well I assume.

But I never put enough time in to master doing "scores". ;)

Hi, I'm looking for a quality drum app focusing on just the sounds, no drum machine functions necessary as I want to trigger it via midi programmed in MultiTrackStudio (I do detailed score programming). I usually use Superior Drummer in Logic. What are the best options?

So you are looking for more an algorithim based driver of drums for complex patterns using your own samples?

I dare say why not Luiz Martinez apps for your genre of taste?

Nothing better quality there either in that space.

  • In Drumjam- Can you have a drum loop playing- and then add some bedlam on top of it?Does it have a step sequencer?
