Hopefully may I rudely awaken some ignorance, Mr Osbourne was a disgrace that is all I can say here, but if you need further elaboration that I’m more than willing to explain in the ‘other’ section of this forum.

Perhaps it's wise and logical to read the room and not speak ill of the recently deceased. However, if you feel so inclined, by all means post your ramblings in the Other section in an easily-ignorable thread.

I’m expressing my opinion just because it’s contrary to the opinions expressed here doesn’t make it any less valid, nor censored as for others they are welcome to express their opinions.

    UPDATE:

I’ve posted why I care not for the loathsome person Osbourne was, anyone can read it in the other section.

    Hi, where is your post?

He was banned, it seems, so maybe that post was also taken down

My educated guess, given the poster, would be that the post/thread would have been about Ozzy's politics, his support for Israel etc. I might be wrong.

I saw the message yesterday and you are correct. It was about Ozzy's support for Israel.

  • Here are a few OZZY quotes, we are going to miss this great character, he always put a smile on our faces:

"I'm not in the band anymore because of musical differences. They were musical. I was different."

"Viagra's a great sleeping drug. I take Viagra, and Sharon goes right to sleep."

"I got rabies shots for biting the head off a bat but that's OK - the bat had to get Ozzy shots."

"My son, Jack, gets pissed off sometimes. He said to me one day, 'Dad, the difference is whether people are laughing with you or at you.' I said, 'As long as they're laughing, it doesn't matter.'"

"I love a good old kip -- an afternoon nap -- it's the best thing in the world. Whether you call it escaping reality or what, it's f…..g great. At least you wake up with your head still on your shoulders, and you haven't f….d somebody else's wife."

Oh bugger off... I'll pass on the rage bait.

Well said 🍻 no one deserves such remarks.

I bought the Cassette album of Paranoid when it first came out, my girlfriend who became my wife was also a massive Black Sabbath fan, that cassette serenaded both of us in our courting days, especially the magical Planet Caravan, such a dreamy track for those loving days.
I think if you grew up with Ozzy in your life, you will never see his bad side, I certainly haven’t, there is definitely no need for bad vibes here, Ozzy will be greatly missed, so will his humour.

Right on, totally agree 🍻 That album was the one I would listen to over and over. Planet Caravan was always my favorite track as well.

The two tracks I listen to the most are Planet Caravan and Megalomania from Sabotage, that was a fantastic…..that is still a fantastic track, only OZZY could do these tracks justice 👌

    Amazing he lasted until 76.

Last year I read the biography of Black Sabbath written by a guy who was, from memory, their tour manager for a few of the early years - quite an eye opener.

That sounds like a good read.. Do you remember the title of the book?

Just had a look and it is "Black Sabbath - symptom of the universe" by Mick Wall.

I think he was with them in 1980, not the early years (my error). But it is a good read and lots of crazy antics by the band. I think the best one was when they set Geezer's trousers on fire (with him in them). Geezer's mum got her revenge though...

    Totally nuts.

  • @Simon Thanks.. I believe Geezer’s got his own book out there too.. The stories must be insane.. I mean, how could they not be?

  • In Motley Crue - The Dirt, the book as some good stories of touring with Ozzy.

We should probably leave all things like that behind. Unfortunately there is a small minority here (one less now) who can’t separate their personal obsessions from the music that the vast majority of us want to discuss.

Agreed. Best to focus on the music. 🎶

And we’re talking about someone whose influence on music is bigger than most.

I can play a few Sabbath songs on guitar, and have known how to play them for decades - when I was first learning there were a lot of people who knew their songs. They really were 4 guys who brought all the right things together to make them better than just the sum of the parts.

Precisely! His music is one of the inspos for my writing process, even if I write a song in another genre, lol.

That's awesome! :) You should post a video of you playing those songs on guitar. :)

Problem is, I can play the guitar, bass, and drum parts, but I can’t get the vocal - it just doesn’t sound right with my voice.

Maybe at some point I’ll try something but I’m no Ozzy.

That's awesome though! I'm sure you can at least make an instrumental cover that way. :)
