Should I update my ipad 3 to ios 8?

I took the plunge on my iPhone the other day to install ios8 - I don't like the look, it seems less clear, plus it seems slower to respond and drains the battery much faster. Not going to change my iPad yet! I guess that Apple would like us to look forward to a new OS and be excited by it, but it seems for ios musicians to be a source of dread...

@mister_rz thanks for the list. Try adding two spaces at the end of each item in the list to get it to show up as one-per-line. Or, you can add an asterisk and a space to the start of each line to get it to come out as a bulleted list. There also needs to be an blank line before the list for that to work.

  • Update it to an air2

  • @kobamoto
No problem, hope it all goes smoothly if you decide to go for it

    @syrupcore
Thanks for the advice, wall of text isn't appealing to read or even look at.

  • @mister_rz you can still edit your post. ;) Oh, you might also be able to cheat by adding four back ticks (`) to the top and bottom of the list. Tells markdown to treat it like code and leave the formatting as you typed it. comes out with a yellow background.

syrupcore you beauty, that worked a treat, is a bit too yellow, but far more legible, can't believe I missed the edit button, even after your subtle hints, I can be dense at times:)

  • Can you use HTML pre tags? Not tried it. Let me try it... ;-)

    here
    is
    a
    list

  • That works too I guess - :-)

But is still yellow :-) Probably best - but cumbersome - is to use a table. Let's see...

    Here
    is
    a
    test
  • Yes - that works too - but is - as I say cumbersome to type in by hand.

Thanks MusicInclusive, need to brush up on my web skills as I become too used to just typing and pressing post, 'opens w3c in new tab', I'll get there eventually:)

One question I have, did you put the table element inside the pre tag?

  • I did this (without the spaces)

    < table >
    < tr >
    < td >
    ....
    < /td >

    etc.

  • I've still got the fear when it comes to html as the early 2000's was a brutal time for me, battling with different browsers and the way they rendered code, I still to this day get a sweaty top lip when html is even mentioned, even though I know it's safe to go into the water, thanks again for all your help.

  • So does this still hold up.

    Should I update?
