    This is for me one of best things i ever made :-) Absolutely love those melodies :-)

    At first I was afraid I was not gonna get psytrance Dendy but you did not deceive. Nice melodies.

    My favourite track of mine for 2025 was a cover version I recorded - some may be familiar with I Walk Beside You, which was the theme song for the BBC series Strike.

    I will catch up with everyone else’s tracks in the next few days

    I have never heard the original but your version sounds great. I’ll got check it out when I am done.

    Good Lord. I released 7 albums in 2025 and you want me to pick one song? Okay, I guess it would have to be this country duet that I wrote. The singers made this one work. I'll post it and then I'll listen to your track and comment on it. I'm sure it'll be great.

    This is a truly old style song from when people knew how to write great music. Very enjoyable.

    Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. I learned how to write music from people who knew how to write great music. Sadly, those days are long gone.

    This year I found my sound a hybrid of synthwave / darksynth / Metal. I started the year with this track that was exactly were I was trying to go.

    Loved this from the outset and it never let up. If it wasnt for the guitar i could imagine this as an Amiga demoscene piece or similar from the 90s, especially with some of the modulations in the piece around 2 mins, which sounded like those you get with pitch shifted chords, characterisric of that era.

  • You’ve been a busy little Bee these last few months Jim ( @jwmmakerofmusic ), all sort of music and always beautifully played and produced. I prefer your slower ones so this one worked for me 👍 Thanks also for the like !

  • Cheers @kyrillik 🙏 , the YT (and indeed SC) algorithms are indeed fickle beasts… if we could only work out their secrets we’d be onto a winner 💷💵
    I first hear your track a couple of weeks ago and a second listening just confirmed my initial impressions 👍

  • @DavidEnglish , I’ll just repeat my comment on YT last month… ‘ Till then gets a 🔟 🙏’

  • @GeoTony What a beautiful song Tony, atmospheric and haunting

    @wagtunes - lovely - I like the way the harmonies are sung - really loose, giving it a genuine “live” feel. As for all those albums…I can’t imagine how anyone can be that prolific but very well done.

  • @AlexY like others I am in awe of that voice…I’ve heard some pretty amazing AI female voices in the past few months - just wondering, but to my ears she sounds completely human. The melody is gorgeous too 👏

    Thanks. I'm retired and have a lot of time on my hands. LOL

  • No idea what you were doing @dendy … as Arthur C Clarke said ‘Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic’… magic track as well 🙏

  • edited December 2025

    I’ve listened to (and commented on) yours before @BillS .
    I agree this is one of the best things you’ve done and that’s against your other tracks which set a high standard anyway.
    I like the original TV version but actually prefer yours.
    The BBC Strike series is worth watching btw for those who haven’t seen it.
    Edit… Thanks for the lovely comment btw 👍

    The intro reminded e of Bobby Goldboro's "Summer The First Time" and a song I did years ago called "Star Wanderer". Anyway, very well produced, not that I expected anything less. You set the bar pretty high around here so I expect great stuff from you. This one did not disappoint. The spoken part, is that you or taken from something?

    For once, my current most popular track also happens to be my absolute favorite.

    I remember a couple years ago when I released some throwaway low-effort Lofi track, and it took off like crazy. It wasn't my favorite track at all. This time however, this slowed-down sensual synthwave track is my favorite. I'll catch up on others' tracks soon. :)

    What a fabulous track! You know, the overriding theme I get from this is the happiness it exudes through the beauty of the melodies - a joyous feeling comes through. And the production is off the scale - a real pleasure to listen to!

  • Some nice tracks here. I especially like @ecou metal/synthwave thing and @dendy Elektron jam. Also nice Geoshredding as usual @GeoTony :smiley:

    The visuals are triggered audio reactively or through MIDI? If so, what program. I could be way off and it’s not at all and I’m ready to be embarrassed if that’s the case.

    I've tried various reactive audio-to-video techniques, but I haven't been happy with the results.

    These days, I start with a computer graphics visualization that is unrelated to the music. I tend to use Astrofox, Magic, or other PC-based visualizers for that. Then I use video FX plugins within Vegas Pro to make the graphics more symmetrical and dynamic. Because the video plugins can be adjusted while previewing the music and visuals, I can experiment in real-time to find the FX settings that best match the mood and pace of the music.

    I do get mixed results from doing it this way. Sometimes it works better than other times.

  • @jwmmakerofmusic - Awesome synthwave track! The pumping effect, the thick pad, drums/percussion, and melodies are nicely done. I enjoy the sound selection paired with the main melodic motif. The only thing missing is a video of a night lit road with no end in the horizon.

    @kyrillik - That moog mariana sounds so deep yet so clear. I like your sound selection. Great groove and I enjoy how the elements fade in slowly.

    @DavidEnglish - Your tracks always come across as very heartfelt, and always manage to move me. Another great piece of music.

    @dendy - this was kind of a great follow up to David English's own track (would be nice to have a playlist arrangement of all these tracks). It kind of started with the same mood, and slowly got me up to grooving. I thought that was a great transition from the introduction. Great mix, everything is blended in so well, from the spoken word at the beginning to the pads, stabs and percussion.

    @BillS - I thought it was going to be a track along the lines of a Steven Spielberg movie. I had to rewind to catch the switch! What a beautiful guitar tone and so much feeling in those guitar licks. The accompaynment, vocals and lyrics are more than up to the task as well.

    @ecou - Wow, excellent track! Great mix and great sound selection. Nice movement in the chord progression and motifs.

    @dav - This immediately took me back to the old time ballads/boleros that my parents love so much, and that I've come to appreciate. It's mixed so well, and I like how you keep it interesting with the flute and other instruments coming in and out. For me, it brings to mind a song called 'Preciosa', a latin bolero, which invokes beaches and palms in my mind (and you called it Tiki after all).

    @Frenq - Very high quality track. The motifs and the use of spoken word and every day sounds give it a great vibe and mood.

    @wagtunes

    AlexY
    Love it! She has a nice voice whoever she is. Really nice tune. Enjoyed every second of it.

    @ecou

    What a great voice! Who is she ? The tune and the voice were great.

    @BillS

    AlexY like others I am in awe of that voice…I’ve heard some pretty amazing AI female voices in the past few months - just wondering, but to my ears she sounds completely human. The melody is gorgeous too 👏

    @jwmmakerofmusic

    Who's the female vocalist? She sings very well. :) I really like this piece of music. If you didn't say "close to being finished", I would've sworn it was a final product. It's like 80s Synthwave with a touch of Fleetwood Mac's softer music.

    Thanks for listening all! Thank you for the compliments on the melodies too. The reason I say "close to being finished" is that I sometimes want to go back and make the SynthV voice notes more legato and maybe add more breaths, but as slow as I am, I may never do it, hehe.

    Natalie's voice is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the track. TBH, she elevates anything I've put her in so far (only two songs lol, but that's because I'm slow).

    This voice is one of the voicebanks from SynthV that goes by the name Natalie. The singer's name is Natalie Nicole Gilbert (https://www.instagram.com/NNGMusic/). Solaria's voicebank is often mentioned with good reason, but imo Natalie and Weina are very underrated.

    @JWM, I hand't thought of Fleetwood Mac! I could see the similar vibe in the bass lines. :) I was aiming for synthwave for sure, and The Human League's "Human" and Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" were in my mind all along as I was working it.

  • Not a song… but a Fanfare created this year in StaffPad:

  • Loved your track @Dav … it’s great how you use modern technology to so lovingly recreate sounds from an earlier (and simpler?) era 👌

  • Blimey @ecou , had the volume turned up a bit too much on my headphones and frightened the s%&t out of myself when your track started… a high energy race to the end. Would make a great film soundtrack 👍
    Also thanks for the comment, any comparison to Queen is one that I’m happy with 😊

    Wow, this is excellent. I love the blend of electronic and those overdriven guitars. The drums are powerful too. The ultimate driving song!
