  • Thanks for that info, @betamax999. I’m glad I held off on getting the packs.

It's pretty rude whenever these devs release more packs for us to buy, without testing them on our platform At All. Feels like a confirmation that we are second class users even though we use the same software.

It's been a month, it's kind of laughable.

  • Picked up Tekno today (back at intro price) loaded in Otoo, created an infinite C note across 4 bars. Created and saved a sequence I liked in Tekno. Saved the Otoo project. Opened Tekno in standalone and loaded the project file created in Otoo. The kit was right but the sequence was blank. When back to Otoo and same in there, sequence lost. Is this a known issue with Tekno or Otoo? Are there known issues with saving/loading projects created in a host vs. standalone? Will drop this in both threads for the relevant experts. Thanks in advance. Sorry if already raised/known.

As far as I know Tekno doesn't save patterns with the presets.

How and where are the patterns/sequences saved?

They just… aren’t. Baby Audio may have mentioned that they’ll fix this, but I am sad to say that I believe your sequence to be lost for good. It happened to me a few times before I started either sequencing it externally, or using it in a host so I can record my sequence.

It’s a shame, because I’ve made (and lost) some really good sequences.

The Patterns are not saved at all unless it's part of an AUv3 state-save which I've not managed to get to work reliably.

Let's just tag @Tristan to check if Baby Audio has any news about pattern saving for Tekno :sunglasses:

  • Wow a sequencer that doesn’t save sequences! That’s a first for me. Thank you both for the warning and saving me a lot of time. Not their finest hour and odd behaviour to put it on sale when one of the newest features doesn’t actually work as advertised! Let’s hope they get their act together rather quickly.

  • How should Baby Audio’s silence on this matter be taken? Contempt?

Maybe. Or hopefully just a reflection that they don't check the forum regularly? You'd best email their support directly. I totally agree with you btw, it should absolutely save sequences, and if that was only added in a future paid upgrade, I would find that incredibly disappointing. It should be added as a free update, it's basic expected functionality, and I not sure how this even got out the gate without that. Improved sound of the hi hats is another thing that should, imo, be in a free upgrade, the hats are indeed very weak.

For now, regarding sequences, the workaround, when using the plugin version, would be to save presets in your host's preset system. That way sounds and sequence are saved.

  • You can’t dance on these hats, they don’t cut through like a razor. Tekno’s sound signature also leans al lot on its internal fx, switch these off and you have a tin sounding thing left. It should be bold from the bones, then fx to add some spice. I hope they will tweak it further to give it grit and clang, I might be in again for sure.

  • Hey all, just a quick update that we just pushed out an update of Tekno iOS that allows for import of our expansion packs. I know a lot of users have been waiting for this so wanted to ping the forum here :)

Does it allow you to save sequences in the sequencer too?! 🤣

  • The packs seem to contain samples, is there a sample import now?
