Tweakbench Studio is now free with IAPs, good move!

It took them a while! I tried to tell the dev early on that the pricing model would never fly. I guess the sales figures finally delivered that message

    New Release

Raw Byte Audio Machine is new and currently $.99

The Raw Byte Audio Machine allows the user to operate on a constant sawtooth wave that is calculated against the assigned sample rate and bit-depth. With each sample, the counter "t" increments by 1. Your expression is evaluated and the lowest bits become a PCM audio sample. Expressions allow for binary arithmetic like addition, subtraction, division, and modulo; and bitwise operations like AND/OR/NOT and bit shifting. With these combinations of tools, a single expression can yield tremendous musical results in complex rhythms, harmonies, and melodies, all while operating on a single sawtooth wave.

No website, no audio examples on the Appstore, no YouTube videos - wow

Downloaded this last night, no idea what I'm doing but got some interesting sounds out of it. Used AI for some code examples and it produced some really nice glitchy bits. Would be very interested to see what can be done in the hands of someone who does know what they're doing.

Thats for manual for the old app Bitwiz which this app is a clone of in a way. However Bitwiz had more features than this app.

You can try the free version on the devoplers website https://danielmckemie.com/rbam/rbam

  • @hacked_to_pieces that guide looks useful, thnx!

  • BitWiz can do everything Raw Byte Audio Machine can currently and has access to more built in variable to use in your expressions. According to the developer Raw Byte Audio Machine will and AU in the next update. BitWiz has been removed from the App Store but still runs on my iPhone with iOS 26.

Really, yea, at that price point you want people to try it out, see the value, then buy it. Hard to take the full leap on $65. Smart on their part, and more accessible to us consumers.

I can’t remember if you could buy each AU, Synth/Drum/Midi/FX/Etc.. individually before, but now you can.

Are there any NAM loaders besides Gigfast and NAMXT?

Studio Camera has a NAM auv3. Works great.

Thanks. I remember running into this one in the App Store but was confused by it.

I don’t use the app, only the NAM auv3. The auv3 is the traditional NAM plugin.

The app does feature tone3000 integration, which is a great feature.

    Can I ask you…
So the NAM AUv3 loads separately? Camera and mixer in standalone only?
And is tonebank 3000 completely integrated? Can I can download straight from tonebank into the app?

Thanks for the clarification Poppa, I guess if you decide to buy one you'd still have the other 36 sitting there as long list of unnecessary scrolling. I think it's a strange concept just because many of these apps are very simple (as in one knob only) baking them together is not the answer. If there was a way to not see the ones you don't want it would make sense but you can't (please tell me I'm wrong!).

They are. It appears to me like the standalone version loads the NAM player as an AUv3, and the tonebank3000 is integrated in the main app but separate from the AUv3. It does load the NAM file once downloaded.

Being fully honest, it’s a little clunky, but it works well once you figure it out. Definitely worth it to have the NAM plugin as an AUv3.
