I'm sure there's a few people who could use those quality keyboard sounds but don't need the Gadget.
Thanks Jumbomull still in the process this end fingers crossed I was getting the blank restore purchases screen aswell. Looking fwd to TSTR Demo later Dougie glad you managed a clean install and on that not finally I'm there I think! Does adding the Wurley after unpacking into Gadget miss anything out in Gadget? I'm dreading having to update these 2 apps now if this is what I have to go through each time. As long as I leave 7 GB clear at all times on my iPad it seems to be fine. Enjoy your Module day!
Downloaded and installed both on iPad 4 v8.1.1 using iTunes with about 4.5GB free, took about 10 minutes. Opened Gadget and installed Module, took only a couple of minutes and all of the gadgets are available and working in Gadget.
I'm one of the people much more interested in Module as a MIDI target outside of Gadget so opened it directly, WTF with the tiny keyboards, is this joke?????? In any case used ChordPolyPad to successfully send MIDI to Module, the sounds are awesome! Been wanting something like this for a while. The background switch for Module is in the app options in the iOS settings app, last place I looked of course. Got the free Worley, but it never downloaded so I kept playing. I'll try later when the load is less.
Went back to playing with Gadget, this can get addicting very fast.
Will probably buy this eventually...but thinking about the small keys...with a name like 'module', wouldn't it be intended as just a sound module and not a playing surface at all? With the on-screen keys included only for visual effect and as a convenience during sound set-up (tweaking settings and sound effects)?
I remember NeoSoul Keys not having a keyboard at all early on.
Just installed on iPad Air wifi 64 GB - not visible as IAA instrument in Cubasis.
No problems with Garage Band.. Any idea how to get It work with Cubasis?
I read here it's only IAA Generator (and since Garageband has no Midi,it knows ONLY Generator).
After reading all impressions i'm quite happy that i only took the plunge to buy the discounted Abu Dhabi.
@Klangsulfat:i was quite happy when i won a code of caustic here and quite fascinated the first days (as it makes many things better than Gadget)but then i went back to Gadget for one simple reason:sound quality.Overall i found Caustic mostly too flat/cheap sounding (or"lifeless"),even most of the FX.
Actually, two reasons:I like the workflow in Gadget more as well.
What does surprise me is-no mod/pitch wheel capability?
Does not react to my XKey in either stand-alone or Gadget, while other Gadgets do...
Korg module website info:
"KORG Module supports cutting-edge iOS music technologies such as Inter-App Audio, Audiobus, CoreMIDI, and Virtual MIDI. By using Inter-App Audio or Audiobus, you can use KORG Module for other music apps such as GarageBand. (...)"
True words somehow but if GarageBand can see it - why Cubasis can not?
open it on an Audiotrack (in Cubasis) as a Generator (and fire up your midi notes on a seperate midi channel, selecting the module port).
I also grabbed Abu Dhabi now that the price went down. And I will have to get module too. But before I do I have a couple of questions: How is the sheet music feature working? Doug didn't show it in the video and they don't say much about it in the description either. Can it be used in portrait mode? Does it support bt pedals for page turning? And sheesh, $39,99 is a serious threat for a regular price. They sure know how to get people to buy their apps early...
It's funny that after all the rant for Landscape mode in gadget now somebody asks for portrait mode You can't please everybody i guess...
Thank You Crabman - works very Well
Im not thinking many of us are going to be laying out 30 bucks for what is basically a larhe sized decent sounding piano. It just does not make sence.
There's an EP, a clavinet, various string/brass/synth sounds and a Wurly (free during BF sale) in there too.
edit: Or are you guys talking about the 'Ivory' IAP (just realized-didn't get that either)?
I got Samplr. Is Abu Dhabi better? Of course, it's integration with Gadget is a plus.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thus far I have not heard anyone claim it is better than sampler but then sampler does some pretty neat things so I am not surprised by this.
Has anyone tried the Ivory iap? Bit expensive for a punt.
Abu Dhabi is a bit different to Samplr.
Samplr probably more creative. And certainly a million times better for 'playing' live.
But Abu Dhabi is part of Gadget and that makes it hugely useful if you want to do glitchy sample stuff in Gadget and want to have total control to automate all those glitches and some great FX.
Depends on your needs.
Can someone here tell me that it's absolutely fine to upgrade to iOS 8 at this point and that everything works swimmingly well? I still have reservations about that.
I almost pulled the trigger on Module until I discovered this requirement. But I'm wondering, if I have iLectric, iGrand, and Galileo, will I be gaining much here in terms of sound quality? The Gadget integration would be nice but I'm not sure that alone worth $50 to me (current sale and IAP all in price).
Having fun brushing up on my Keyboard skills with Module and using it with the Changeling app and Chord Poly Pad both midi chord tools getting some great chords and sounds loving The spacey piano !
@SuperNiCd as so many of these comments have (and will) attest, this is all such a subjective business.
I know (and commented) that I didn't quite see what the value proposition was for this when I already had IGrand, NeoSoul, iLectric etc etc and that's a very fair point, but I did buy it and starting playing in Gadget and FOR ME it took 10 seconds to realize the money spent was worth every penny.
Just to be able to play the sounds in Gadget. I'm not, mostly, an EDM etc, guy, and these sounds open up Gadget in just the direction I want to go. Can/could you skin the cat in other ways? Of course. But in those first few seconds what I loved was seeing the simplification of my workflow, which at this stage in the game where I have lots of apps but judge most everything on ease of chosen productivity is becoming paramount.
Are there things I still want KORG to tweak, add, adapt, especially on their piano roll, again, of course, even more so now, the closer to the water, the more we want to drink, but FOR ME this is a big step forward. I'm not a great liquid keyboard player (Debussy sounds like drunk supermarket music under my fingers), but the touch and feel I can get here is v. good within the context of it being immediately available to me within the added environment etc etc.
Sorry, babbling, too much coffee.
Downloading...
Downloaded.
+1 and no problem installing into gadget for me (iPad mini 2 iOS 8.1)
For me, this is a sweet deal. I've stayed away from iGrand & iElectric in the past, because I'm not much of a keys guy (and I've not been a fan of IK, either). NeoSoul keys looks great as well, but I've never pulled the trigger on the IAP's.
So, to have good piano sounds all bundled together, along with being able use them seamlessly within Gadget, this looks to have me sorted right out. I still haven't purchased yet, but will certainly be watching & listening for some demos before the intro sale ends.

I love most of the other products you mention, but I'm jealous of you. Would take back the money already spent on many of them now if I could.....t'was ever thus
Thanks @JohnnyGoodyear. The purchase price is the least of my objections, the biggest being the iOS 8 requirement. From everything I've read, it just doesn't look like music apps and iOS 8 are completely sorted yet. I'm just concerned I'll overlook some app that I really like that hasn't been updated yet and it will either break, fail to work with Audiobus, etc.
Folks have discovered some serious drawback in the amount of available polyphony.
Others - like me - were balking at spending $50 - on sale - and $80 at full price to get Ivory grand.
As has been noted - the on-screen keyboard is small - and the perspective is odd and the organ has no stops...
So, I wrote a song...
1.
When you want to walk with Korg
But the price is just too high
When you want a better Grand
But the thought just makes you cry
When you look inside your pocket
And see your wallet's dry
Don't walk, Don't walk, just balk.
Chorus:
Oh we loved the fine Korg apps of yesteryear
The skeuomorphic look made us shed a tear
But the Modules cause us greenback grief
And the keyboards have an odd relief
And we balk together, balk together
Balk together for the loss of gear...
2.
When you thought of gigging organs
But there are no stops to tweak
And the piano has three octaves
And the financial outlook's bleak
When you've got iGrand already
And maybe others too...
Don't walk, Don't walk, just balk.
Chorus:
3.
When Doug makes us a video
That demonstrates the app
It's usually the thing that makes
Us wake up from our nap
And open up our pocket books
And ignore our spending cap
Maybe we'll walk, maybe not balk
Chorus
4.
Can't play the notes in tandem
And so this song concludes
It's too much for this nouveau app
The polyphony eludes
So now we wait for Korg to fix
And hope they'll let us play the blues
And to experience, we'll have to chalk
lol Great tune!
@MusicInclusive For some reason I Have 'That's Amore!' in my head now.... Which is, I know, ironic and all....
