Haste post owned, sorry that guidance didn’t work out 🙏
Gemini was on the right track, I was able to “control” text size for Scaler only in Control Center, but Scaler 3 doesn’t seem to support dynamic text sizing, yet… I will pass this suggestion on to the developer 🙏
Yeah it didn’t work with Rubato either.. sniff sniff
Edit: I’ll tell you what DOES work though, if I connect my iPad to the HDMI out port of my Apple Multi A/V dongle adapter thingie, and send the display to my 65” living room TV.
Then, I can see things. Of course this takes away from the whole portability thing of an iPad
Ah, great idea!!!
Since I was on the beta I submitted feedback requesting dynamic text 🔥
Perhaps we can all start requesting dynamic text for the apps that have small text?
Thanks for testing, saved Me a few bucks...
(I would go totally bananas after buying apps that are not well-behaved in 2026!).
🙏 You’re welcome, thank you @Gavinski and @timfromtheborder for calling me out on this so I am more careful. I wouldn’t want anyone to spend their hard earned money on an app they cannot use as intended.
Sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesn’t.. This is in the arrange page.. tried to half 2 different chords (1 bar each) + then join them to get 1 bar (2 beats for each chord).. that took longer than it should have.. needs some refining..
Had other issues with adding a bass track (arrange page) and then not being able to change that to some other track.. I couldn’t change it to a melody or sequence etc.. or going one step further back to change from expressions to moods.. This is within the Motions pop up..
The tap+hold with 1 finger and then tap with a 2nd finger is just weird.. I suppose it’s gonna take some time to get used to..
Otherwise, I like all the new features I’ve played with so far.. there’s so much to mess around with..
Thank you! I didn’t know about the mini-tiles, but turning them off does make things better:
I’m having fun now. Something that I think would help with the legibility, even more than dynamic text size, is stretching the whole UI when you get rid of the keyboard at the bottom. Currently, this makes more room in one of the lists — which is useful, but does nothing to make the text bigger. As you can see from my screenshots, there is a fair bit of empty space on the sides. If the whole UI expanded proportionally when you collapsethe keyboard, there would be less empty space and bigger text.
Thanks, not just me then!
I don’t mind the 2nd finger tap, but despite the pop-up showing, selecting ‘delete chord’ only works about 5% of the time for me. None of the other options seem to do anything at all.
It’s good otherwise, but not being able to remove or change a chord is a pretty serious problem. Better if there was a trash icon on the nav to select instead. Might be refund time for this one.
The text is difficult to read not so much because of the letter size, but because of the low contrast. It's dark gray. The interface itself is very dark. If you lighten it and make the letters light, readability will become normal even at this size.
lazy ass UI...low contrast, bad text size, no scaling. hung notes day one.
why?
what are they doing besides just porting it quick and dirty??
who tests this shit??? better yet who signs off on it????
Good point, you can change the theme to a lighter version 💡
It’s buggy as hell this thing. 3rd iPad reboot, and the ‘delete chord’ worked ok in most views. Closed app, reopened, stopped working again. Ridiculous.
Every new release lately is like flipping a coin on whether or not you're about to smoke a wet cigarette lol
Press and hold chord while pressing 3 dots on the left to delete chords 🙏
Thanks, that's easier to access than the finger tap option, but I'm still having the exact same issue - sometimes it works, and sometimes (most of the time) it doesn't, none of the options when selected have any effect.
Update: after a bit of play this morning, I think it’s not a bug, you just have to be extremely precise with the first and second tap. The confusion comes as even when it looks like you’ve made the selection (so the pop-up appears with the additional menu options), selecting the ‘delete chord’ doesn’t work. Actually that probably is a bug.
But anyway, I’ve found tapping the two buttons quickly, seems to work most times. I’ve yet to be able to get the click and drag duplicate thing to work, though.
Nice results when you get something going, but I wouldn’t have purchased this if I’d known it was going to be this finicky. Nav menu’s instead of the double tap thing would make for a better UX.
To those who bough Scaler 3, I am trying to decide if I should get S3.
I use Scaler 2 a lot and have mostly gotten used to its quirky workflow. I use S2 in Cubasis as a midi plugin.
I have no interest in using S3 as a Auv3 host / daw. Is the new workflow better ? Any other new features worth the upgrade ?
Seems pretty heavy on resources - getting a lot of spikes and crackles in AUM on my M2.
I’m tempted to buy this app, but reading the thread it doesn’t seems that polished
Any equivalent in terms of features on iOS ?
Update is already out. Had no issues up to now anyway.
Think of it as becoming a beta tester, but you have to pay.
Stuck notes using inside the newly updated GR-II this morning
The VST also seems to be pretty buggy, so it's not iOS specific

.
Disappointing. As pointed out in some of the comments above by @oldsynthguy , the interface isn’t very responsive, and the design choices aren’t intuitive. For example, to edit a chord, you have to tap the chord and then tap anywhere else on the screen with another finger.
Other issues:
Finally, I wonder if someone had this specific problem:
If I halve the length of a chord, I can’t place a chord right after it.
‘Delete chord’ still only works intermittently for me, despite the recent update.
It’s not good.
I complained on the forum, and they replied : ) Let's see what happen for the other issues.
--> to place the chord on half division, you have to adjust the Divisions (top right) in the arrange page (not completely intuitive... but good enough)
I don’t question anyone’s experience or opinion of the app. I was on the beta and they addressed a lot of bugs and usability issues, and seemed very responsive to me. I would encourage that anyone who has an issue or complaint consider posting in the forum, if you think it’s worthwhile. This group has a lot to offer - there’s many people here with years of experience using iOS apps and who know the ropes, and who know what makes an iOS music app good or bad, or worth considering.
