Watch some MooMu videos on YouTube and check that synth out. Great on learning modular.
lol @ sadistic. I really want Odessi as AUv3!
Just saw this, yeah I wondered whether it was something related to them having maybe just designed a very strange/different way of saving presets. The current way will cause a lot of problems for users, I think, they should consider changing it to a more standard system for sure. Thnx
Dev never responded, doesn't look like he dipped in here either. Unfortunate, so much interest.
Hasn’t responded to me yet either yet. A holiday weekend I guess to be fair but, if that’s the reason, maybe don’t release an app at a time when you’re not able to respond to the immediate bug reports and feedback you receive, especially when you say on your website that you’re specifically ‘seeking some early feedback’?
Their previous app ampstamp had a good deal of updates and bugfixes. I’m assuming they are just BOMBARDED with reports right now. And like Robin said, holiday weekend. Hopefully optimistic things will be righted 🤞
I'd definitely give them a bit more time, yes
Despite all the warnings here about the bad UI, I bought it to check out the sounds. But holy crap you guys weren’t kidding. Even on my 12.9” iPad screen most of the text is pretty much unreadable… while wearing magnifying reading glasses mind you. Sorry, but using this with the accessibility zoom function doesn’t improve the user experience. The onscreen keyboard is pretty much unplayable too at the max size. Definitely hoping that the dev will ditch the ugly wooden background and come up with additional UI improvements, and offer better use of the available screen space. Looking and sounding like a promising app though. It just needs some fine tuning.
I wonder whether they would be best off offering an optional UI view which was just a bare bones interface of functional parameters, completely dropping the skeuomorphic representation altogether. Wouldn’t be pretty perhaps but would at least be useable. If it were just an option, it would retain the current layout for those who want it.
I was comparing the UI to odyssey. It can def be improved. Even a scrollable modular view like model 15 would work too
There’s an update that adds the zoom slider to the iPad version. Sadly it doesn’t really improve anything because it zooms straight in, with no ability to move side to side.
Moog Model 15 highlights all available jack destinations. > @Edward_Alexander said:
Put your finger in the word scroll and you can move the zoomed stated up down and side to side.
Do you know if there is a setting to highlight the active in jacks?
Much nicer with the zoom, the scrolling is a bit fiddle, though.
@Gavinski there are 4 ports labeled mult in the bottom left, I suspected, you could double 2 signals, also, but didn’t manage to do that, maybe you can only quadruple one.
Agreed on the scrolling. I’m not really sure why regular two finger scrolling couldn’t be implemented or why this was considered a better option than that? It also doesn’t auto-scroll when dragging a connection wire which really makes things difficult.
Good sounds, in both synths, bargain price, scrolling is improved, definitely usable on an iPad Pro, but the standard two finger scroll and zoom around the interface would be a much better option. Here’s hoping for an update. I’ll have to see how it compares sonically to my Blue Marvin BARP.
Have the preset issue been fixed in the new version? When I tried it (before quickly refunding) it froze when trying to choose a preset, with a restart of the app as the only solution. I am on IOS 18.
Thanks.
Wow, what a strange way of implementing that.
Release notes say it's fixed, but still doesn't respond for me, on iPadOS 17.10. It does not freeze, but cannot make a selection in the preset browser; only Back works.
Darn it! Same iPados and same issue. Back to the tickets!
The latest update, 0.9.2, fixes preset selection for me on iPad 6, iPadOS 17.10.
Good to know, thanks! Still on the fence due to the atrocious interface design, but tempting also…
Huzzah!
I am also sitting on the fence with this one, I’ve been waiting for a tutorial video on YouTube that demonstrates the synth musically rather than just noises, is it anything like the ARP2600?
I bought the SK-1 for my late daughter back in the 80s, so I know what that sounds like.

i dont think the reverb is the same. This one is a huge full washout and almost too much. Now maybe the OG hardware sounded like this? My grey meanie has the spring tanks, those I like as they are musical and subtle. I willl try and a/b some patches not that it needs to be exact. Oh and the Casio sampler has a freaking 'chip' to bend with wires or func!
Tbh I kinda hate the reverb…. Okay maybe “hate” is too strong but is a bit much . I find myself turning it all the way down and adding my own FX
I'm the same regarding the reverb, it really destroys most of the factory presets imo, as @oceansinspace says, it's a very washed out sound. It's normally not something I care about, as I almost always prefer to use my own fx with synths anyway, but in this case it's a pity, as the reverb is apparently a big part of the mystique of the original. I wonder whether anyone has an opinion on which existing iOS AUv3 reverb might be closest to the original, maybe something inside Audiothing Springs?
It sounds like someone went on an iOS shopping spring during a Black Friday sale (cough) , picked up Eventide’s Blackhole at like 80% off, and cranked every dial to the right EXCEPT Gravity, and slathered it on everything just to show it off. The funny part is, and this is something my wife* pointed out, it doesn’t even sound like it’s on each preset as an effect ; even at its lowest settings , it sounds like the reverb is in the forefront and the actual presets are the background noise. It’s almost like the mix level is adjusting the volume of the actual patch relative to the reverb rather than the other way around , almost like a reverse dry/wet knob if that makes sense .
I’ve yet to use it on a track . Conversely , we’ve already finished a song using the SK1 emulation and releasing it in May . I think that speaks volumes of each emulation’s usability.
*Her actual comment was rather hilarious but a bit mean; there’s a reason why I’m the one out of the 4 in the band who posts on our behalf🤣
Anybody see zooming improvement with the latest updates?
