How can I make dub music in AUM?
Hi!
I would like to know How to make dub music in AUM. Especially mixer configs in AUM.
How can make beautiful feedback loops and other typical dub effects without terrible feedback noises. Is there a good limiter in AUM?
My controller is a novation launch control xl mkii.
Can you please also recommend beautiful fx for my send fx?
Any good YouTube tutorials out there?
Thank you so much

Delays: Dubstation by audio damage, Yonac Space Echo
Reverbs: Devil Spring, Walls by klevgrand has some very nice springs imo
Misc: Dub Filter for high pass sweeps, MoogerFooger Phaser, Octaves by audiothing
Good that you're already mindful of feedback. AUM has a native limiter. I also use the Amazing Noises Limiter https://apps.apple.com/de/app/limiter-audio-processor/id945375756?l=en-GB
Thanks for the Information.
Can’t remember if this video was posted here or elsewhere but I saw this a month or so ago and found it inspiring. Doesn’t answer your question but may give you ideas
Right at the end of the video they go about the flickering response of those faders, anyone can tell me what models they’re using (video is from 22, so I assume there’s better models today, probably more expensive and more flimsy)
But actually any recommendations as of 2026 for you know, that flick?
Faderfox Mix Controller MX12 and Pot Controller PC12
Modnetic is an amazing app that does Dub super well - the sounds are delicious:

I've been pulling this app out more than the space echo or DubStation offerings (although those are excellent, as well.)
Plus Dub Filter by AudioThing is very handy for old-school dub:

Thanks!!
Wow, @pedro
Thank you for sharing this video, very, very interesting!
Agreed 100% one dudes siren stuff was super rad! Thanks Pedro 👍
@pedro thanks from me too. I watched that video with rapt attention, shared it with my music buddies then looked up the music that these gents make - wonderful stuff
my dub music lacks a little something - I have the controllers and the software but lack the lifelong network and connection with dub musicians that results in having all those lovely stems to play with!
you're welcome. I can understand the sentiment of your comment re: quality dropping but lukcily Faderfox is a one-man show from Hamburg who takes great pride in his controllers. I have several of the smaller controllers and they are wonderfully made.

Oh definitely! You need the stems!! 😅 those lovely process chains aren’t feeding themselves
But you know there’s other options, for example au radio (beepstreet’s for instance), and you could load multiple, tune them to whatever you want. You wouldn’t be able to replicate the performance, but it should be fun. And you could always record it
It’s pretty easy , the stereo mixer aspect of AUM really compliments dub imo.
If you don’t have a groovebox, one of the ways you can build songs in real-time for live or studio is having your sequence(s) / sequencer(s) in standby and micro manage the transitions like a dejay or automate them via cc.
Example:
