Ok.. app is released, my job is done here (apart from bugfixes if needed), now I am waiting for your ideas and insprations what simple app wold you love to see, which you are currently missing on iOS

Also don't think that anybody in this univese needs HELP for such simple app but just in case - Apple requested me to do help anyway - so here it is:
    https://blog.dendy.sk/post/audiopipeline-user-manual

  • Congratulations on the release @dendy and thanks for all the hard work you put in so far.

  • Also - i wrote mail to Ableton SDK devs, cause from all what i was able to debug it looks MOVE problem is caused by some bug in their SDK. Will inform about progress when i get reply from them, pretty curious if it is just me screwed something or i AGAIN found real bug in third party SDK of big company (which is something happening to me all the time for years, i have just that level of luck lol)

ok that is really weird, i did not set any limtations .. are you in some "dystopic hell" country like Russia, China or North Korea now ?

    That would explain it :))

China is not a dystopian lmao. I say that as someone who lived and worked there for 15 years. The USA is frankly more of a dystopian hell than China haha. I'm in Nepal, a very civilized and lovely country from my point of view, even if it does have its own unique problems 😁

Are you living in Nepal? Just asking - been there a while ago. Fully enjoyed country and people. Stayed in Kathmandu at Kopan Monastery for a week before heading off on a pilgrimage through Tibet. Was an experience of a lifetime.

    Great stuff!

Is there any possibility of adding support for older iOS versions? This works great on my M2, but my Air 4 is suck on 16x (I keep trying to install 18x but it fails every time).

Nice! I've have been based in Kathmandu for a while now. I'm not Buddhist btw, but also did some pretty hardcore meditation some years ago in Lumbini, a two month silent retreat. Nepal is a lovely country with a shit government. Let's see what happens after the Gen Z revolution of last year.

It was joke from large part, at leasts regarding China :-))

Honeslty, I am happy to live in Europe cause I think it's best place to live on entire planet (especially the eastern countries - we have massively good ratio of personal freedom AND public safety AND life standard AND notGivigFuckAboutPoliticalCorrextnessAndWokeism AND people taking dark humour/sarcasm/irony as normal part of their daily life without getting offended here :)).

BUT - if I would be forced with gun at my head to choose where to live - between USA and China - I would definitely choose China, zero doubt

It supports iOS 17 .. will look at it in try if it works on iOS16 .. will set you PM we can try beta build for iOS16.

Yes maybe if enough people join my Patreon and more devs sponsor videos, I can afford to live in the 'first world' again...

  • @dendy before starting the work day I just did a quick test linking two AUM instances (one on iPhone, the other on iPad) over WiFi. Very impressive sound quality and very low latency. Brilliant work! Feature request: Add a tip jar to your app...

  • Really generous of you to make and release this, thanks @dendy.

I am afraid Apple doesn't allow tip jars in-app :-) And i decided to make this app strictly free inclucind no IAP's

But if you want you can send me some symbolic donation lol, i have paypal/buymecofee at bottom of my homepage here https://dendy.sk/ .. i have also patreon which i basically don't maintain cause i am lazy as fuck, i just put there my Drambo patch bank an i think one or two people bought it there :))) https://www.patreon.com/c/ray_subject

But you don't need to send me anything - just enjoy app ;) I have my daily job which gives me enough $ to live comfortably, so - this is really just little service for community.

I am working on massive huge project which will be payed, but that will come out maybe at end of this year, or maybe even next year.

Oooh an AB utility AUv3, like Metric AB / Magic AB / MCompare / Reference, with a reasonably large number of "slots" for references to be loaded, and decently comprehensive FFT, metering/loudness, stereo, comparison visualization

    I like Metric AB:

  • You should change your link Dendy btw, you left the sk country code in there, better to remove it

  • @Gavinski said:

    ? not sure i understand

  • When sharing AppStore links, it's better to remove the country code. So you put this:
    https://apps.apple.com/sk/app/audiopipeline/id6767002244

But better to remove the /sk characters, as that links to the Slovakia store. In this case I guess it doesn't matter, as the app is free, but if an app is paid, clicking this link may lead to the user seeing prices etc set for a different country than their own country. So a better link to share would be:

    https://apps.apple.com/app/audiopipeline/id6767002244

  • ah understand, thanks

  • @dendy said:
    notGivigFuckAboutPoliticalCorrextnessAndWokeism

Sad to read this from one of my favorite forum members. Both “political correctness” and “wokeism” are right-wing constructs aimed at shutting down free speech and oppressing minorities. Support for such ideas is always bad, but especially now with the rise of fascism across Europe and the Anglo world.

I have removed your app from my TestFlight.

  • edited May 14

ok, i totally understand and respect that.

I really like this one, can’t remember who said that:

“I disagree with You, but I will fight till my last breath for Your right to free express that opinion”

Not sure if it is exact quote, but you got the point.

  • Brilliant @dendy , what a beautiful gift to the community, you have a very generous soul.

  • Thank you very much for your great work!

  • After I got Link Audio running on Linux (using the "Void-Ableton-Link-Audio" modules in VCVRack) I did some experimentation and measurements today. The setup was sending pulses from an LFO in VCVRack to the iPad (AudioPipelineReceive) and then straight back to VCV via AudioPipelineSend.
I got a round trip time of 40-50ms over gigabit ethernet. That means 20-25ms latency.
And the Link Audio protocol is (virtual) DC coupled. So it's possible to send virtual control voltages from the iPad to another device. Lot's of fun!

Should this work with Logic or are they behind on the feature? I tried (I've had this from the start but not tried until now, bad tester)

I then tried with Cubasis and it works fine but I have no apps that don't work anyway in C whereas Logic don't do IAA, like Borderland so I wanted to give it shot.

It did not work with Logic, if I'm not clear

  • hey @dendy , would it be possible to lower the min ios to 15?

want to use it on iphone 6s

and thanks for cool free stuff!
