Great to see some excitement in here. I'm Jonas, the developer behind Phase Fiasco.

Quick iOS update: TP2 has been running clean on my test devices from day one. No crashes, no scaling issues. Right now I'm sorting out some gesture-based UX details, but honestly it's been a blast to work on, especially the Performer mode.

TestFlight opens up after next week and will stay live until the build is stable enough to ship. Same price as desktop ($29), same ongoing updates.

Welcome! Good to have you here Jonas.

Assuming it will be a separate purchase @PhaseFiasco ?
I bought the desktop version and it’s seriously good

It would be fair to combine the two into a single purchase, especially if you already bought it to support me. The problem is the two different services Apple and Lemon Squeezy, both being difficult in their own way. I'll check if there's a function in LS, or a workaround. One easy solution would be to create one code for all TP2 users but last time I did that it got leaked pretty fast :( I'll look into it.

Enjoying the desktop version. Something I’d love to see in an update (if it’s possible), is the ability to randomise everything.

At the moment there are a lot of options for randomising existing manually loaded fx, but it’d be great if a global option could populate this automatically with a random selection of fx each time. Similarly, if the performance x/y pads could be loaded automatically with random options.

No problem if it’s not technically possible, but it’d be wild to be able to hit a single button, and come up with unique combinations each time.

This is an easy addition that can be implemented in next update. I will also look into random modulation targets, some of the parameters get wild pretty quick so they have to get dialed into the system. But yeah technically not a big deal. Thanks for the good idea!

Cool, thanks Jonas. Obviously it would be amazing if I got the iPad version free, having purchased the desktop (and loving it!) …but I totally understand your reservations. 🙏🏼

  • Hey Ulf, just a suggestion, but maybe change the thread title to include the app name? I’m always gonnna click on a thread called “awesome craziness” but others might not 😊… @Pxlhg

That’s excellent, thank you - I’m a big fan of a random button!

Great if you can, using Lemon Squeezy has been a bit of a pain, tbh. Maybe a uniquely generated code for each account would work better, or a way to submit an email address with the iOS version via an IAP?

  • Good idea @oldsynthguy 👆🏽

Sure, it was just that I didn't mention TF2 alone but others as well. Anyway, I changed it.

  • This thing looks incredible, can't wait for the iOS version.

    Hello Jonas!

Excellent piece of work here. I am an appaholic, and this is straight up genius here. Great layout, design, and I especially love the grid type display right here. Are those all touchable and can be punched in/out?!

I have a suggestion here after watching all the videos. There is a very large, impressive X/Y pad. I had a KP2 and a KP3. I've had a few few effects with non return-to-center joysticks, and even made a few of my own. I've jad slicers. And of course, I've had a few apps with X/Y pads and slicers.

First, let me tell you about some great features from those so I can illustrate my point.

There was a great feature on the KP2 that wasn't on the KP3. It had a momentary (up) and latch switch (down). You could record your movements for just a couple bars and they would loop in time. If you used the momentary toggle, it would start your effect from wherever you touched first when you recorded. Imagine a downward swoop from the top right to the bottom left for a filter. It would start over at the top every time you flicked the switch up and start to swoop down. It would then hold at the last position you were at until you let go. I don't know where Korg (and Roland) got these half momentary/half on toggle switches, but they are awesome. The Roland EF303 had this too (called it Grab) but that was to punch in and out of the effect.

The KP3 would record a couple bars on the X/Y pad and loop them. You could use an effect, switch to another effect, and keep the gesture. Problems with it were
    1. The loops were way, way too short.
    2. They would immediately loop back to where you started, and if you didn't land exactly on that sweet spot at the end on your recorded gesture, it would jump. Sometimes desireable, sometimes not.
    3. You could not save a gesture. Once you recorded a new one, it was gone.
    4. Nothing on the KP 2 or 3 was MIDI assignable.

Elastix FX from Oliver Greschke had 4 assignable, recordable independent XY effects on one screen. However, it was limited in length, and all the FX would restart. I suggested a much longer loop length and a freeform recording loop for each parameter, meaning that it would be, in effect (bad pun noted and not intended), a euclidian effect.

And, of course slicer pedals were excellent after the KP3.

OK, so now that I got all that out, let me simplify.

My feature request for the XY pad:

    1. A toggle pad (from the KP2)
    2. A much longer recording time... Like 128-512 beats
    3. A smooth transition feature for looped X/Y recording, returning you to your first point and stopping recording at the next timed bar.
    4. A way to save awesome X/Y gestures and punch in/out of them or transition smoothly between them.
    5. If there are are multiple X/Y gestures recorded, allow them to be freeform or snapped to whatever length they were. Let them flow in their own orbit.
    6. A slicer feature on the XY pad.

That's a lot. But if anything, much, much longer recordable loops that are savable, and timed or freeform. And a toggle like the KP2. One of the best effect ideas lost to time.

I am an appaholic, an effects addict, and you have the blue meth. Thank you, Heisenberg.
