  • Thank you so much for this app!!
I use the Volca series a lot and I'm just waiting for this new model to arrive.
Even if I didn't use'em, still a very useful app!
    Congrats!

@Rej Because of the import and export options, CEVS is also very useful as general purpose wave editor without owning the Volca ... thanks again! If I remember correctly, Caustic on Android supports a text-to-speech synthesis app. iOS has a great built-in TTS engine. It would be really cool to use it as sample source in Caustic/CEVS ... Do you think this is a possible option in a future release?

  • The TTS app on Android is actually a 3rd party app made by a Caustic user from the forums. I know he's using Google's TTS engine API there and I'm not sure what's involved in porting over to use another solution on iOS. Either way, it's not my app, I just link to it (kinda like sending to AudioShare). If he or someone else wants to make a iOS TTS app for use in music apps, I'd happily link to that as well but I don't really have time to write one from scratch.

I think I've figured out a way to access the factory samples for playback using the data file KORG has supplied in the SDK so I'll put that in too. I probably won't allow people to edit or save the factory sounds to not mess with KORG's ip rights, but I don't see much harm in playing them back...

    That's neat :)

It was just way too easy to load the raw file 'all_sample_preset.alldata' into Renoise 'zero-snap' the slices into place...

  • Volca Sample is out now in Germany ;-) Can't wait to grab one. @Rej How are the chances that the upcoming (?) Caustic 3.2 will send MIDI clock to sync the Volca?

  • Hello, first of all thank you Rej for creating Caustic. I'm trying to use the editor with Audiocopy as file importer. It worked fine for a few weeks but for a few days now when I try to import in caustic from audiocopy it opens up a blank page saying "audioPaste supports only pasting to wav files". I tried reinstalling both caustic and audiocopy, cleared the itunes shared folders, cleared the volca also but it just won't work anymore. I can do it from Korg's proprietary app but from Caustic no. I use an ipad for transfer. I also tried copying samples in itunes filesharing directly into the caustic samples folder but the app won't list any files copied in there. How can I fix this?

is there any chance for an update to automatically convert samples to the 31.25 khz of the volca sample? it was annoying to have to reduce my library to 75% full from 98% the first time I loaded my samples - exporting/converting/re-importing each sample is too tedious-

  • MIDI out of Caustic? Perhaps an IAA host device too? Individual feeds from each synth to Audiobus? (sorry, can't shut my babble down)

    Oh Heaven! BlipInteractive, you listening?

  • Having V sample for a few weeks but only since yesterday started using this software i encountered issues. It took me a load of time to delete the samples. It would fail with the "err dcod" or something which i don't understand because it is "deleting" (doesn't have anything to do with volume right? ) So everytime that happened i cancelled in the software and pressed "function" on the V Sample (so the error went away) and do it again and again like 80 to 90 times for all 99 samples...... tedious but all of the samples are gone.
NOW i can't get any samples on the unit no matter at what volume i tried. Resetting samples doesn't work either (the green play button in the software is greyed out and can't transfer any samples to it. I tried my own samples but nothing. I think i broke my V Sample with that deleting phase! O_o

  • When i put in my own samples i can play them (green button) from the software but transfering them is still a no go. While it (seems to) transfer(s) i don't see anything on the V Sample screen or no blinking buttons. Just nothing...
(i run it with a Korg adaptor instead of batteries and use the original sync cable/stereo cable by the way).

  • just curious do you guys like this app or audio pocket better for sending samples to the volca?

The Caustic version. Way more sample editing features, and it has the effects you can render into the samples...and you can import from Audioshare.
