Oops. I forgot the Z3ta+.
And that my favourite (z3ta)
Z3TA All the way! Hundreds of useable patches and rock solid for actual playing it in a live situation. Patch switching and selecting is instant and the sound is in my opinion as good or better than hardware synths.
Laplace is something exquisite but it could go on the list, as well.
FM4 at the moment
Sure. I have been very busy and only in places where I can post here instead of play but I'm really excited about FM4.
I was hoping that Z3TA would go on sale during this holiday season.

FM4 for me currently.

For this one i paid the full price. But this is one purchase that i truly feel was worth every cent spent! There are so many patches on the net. Just use ifunbox, drop them in there and you have enough to enjoy for a long time.
What about Mitosynth? It's been itching for a while now...
Thor, it's like a Swiss army knife.
Thor for me - love loads of others on the list but Thor seems to find a place on most tracks I make...

Me too...................... Still waiting............
To all Z3ta+ users, you might want to install the VST and grab thousands of presets from the VST version. The demo is free.
Is there a way to have Thor not make all that noise she switching patches?
@bixnood good call
There's a legit free full z3ta + vst download available, (registration is required but that is all. It's free because it's the first z3ta, not the "2".)
ThumbJam is still the King
Whoa buddy! Forgot some of the tops - PPG Wavegenerator and PPG Wavemapper, Mitosynth and Grain Science. Dauntingly powerful synthesis engines in these.
Lemme give a shout out to iPulsaret too!
Seeing as Wavemapper isn't on the list, my vote goes to Samplr
Alchemy.
Animog; although, I m tempted to get the Z3TA.
Yes as I said my favourite is Z3ta, due to 'warpage' of the oscillators, massive effects before you start to use the filter, it's versatility, from acoustic recreations, to the most abstract synth sound, pretty hard to beat. On iOS only my heart is torn between Nave and Mito, both beautiful synths. BTW for anyone interested in looking for Z3ta patches, there are loads on the web, but you may want to check out KVR, PatchArena and Audiobombs, some of the patches may need the waveforms installing to work correctly though.
Interesting... the app leading this poll right now isn't even a synth. Thumbjam is great, but it isn't a synth.
I bought Egoist last night. Meh.

I installed the 2, you get a 15-day trial, enough to go to the folder where the synth is installed and grab all the 2000+ patches. I believe the iOS version is based on the 2, certainly they are identical at first sight. Very nice sounds in these patches, too.
Had to be Samplr for me. It can sound unique depending on what you put into it. It should have been two polls really as these two are kiwis and bananas unless you were talking about sample based synths. As for my fave synth I'd go for Thor but I don't use it as much as I would because it's deaf to program change for live use.
Has to be PPG wavemapper and Generator, Alchemy is great well. But all of these are known classics. Phawou and Electro supprised me the most this year....now drum machines, controllers and effects are another story, so many great ones this year.
This is one of those times I agree with the informed crowd that animoog is my favorite SYNTH for ios also hands down.(as others mentioned thumbjam is not a synth really.
Sunrizer for diversity and quality..
