  • While I do use audiobus for trying getting it to work I've just been using loopy. The menu is the one I posted above, I've attached an image of the menu

  • If you select the top input you should be able to record whatever is plugged into input 1 of eie

  • I understand, the problem is that I am unable to actually get to the menu the majority of times I plug in the eie.

  • ...which basically means loopy can't see eie. Are you using genuine apple cck or 3rd party?

  • Genuine.

  • No clue. You could try a different printer cable just to be sure. If not that it could be the case of trying to exchange it for another to see if it is the unit itself. A lot of folk on this forum use this interface without issues.

  • Have you tried a different USB cable?

  • When I plug in I get one of 3 results

    A. Absolutely nothing
    B. the sound stops coming from the ipad speakers, but the input is stuck on the iPads internal mic
    C. Eureka! It works... Until it becomes unplugged. then it's back of square 1

  • I'm wondering if there is something physically obstructing the cck in the ipad... It doesn't feel like it's in too tight, and I can hear a click when I push in the right side, is it supposed to be that way for the left wide as well?

  • It should fit in squarely on both sides. Is this a 30 pin connector? Have you looked closely at it and the iPad Jack to see if anything looks damaged.

  • I missed your post @supadom. Sounds like we were both on the same track.

Tried a new cable, no difference

  • Have you inspected the plug and Jack? If that's not fitting squarely, that's probably the problem.

  • Got headphones, and when I plug in the cck the sound stops coming from my iPads speakers but doesn't come from the eie

  • It is a 30 pin connector. There is an audible click when it engages, strangely enough this click is not present in the second adapter that comes with the cck...

  • With the EIE plugged in, audio routes in and out the cck, so your headphones won't receive any signal.

Second adaptor? Are you talking about the adaptor for data cards? If so, do you have a card with any pictures? If so, test that to prove your 30 pin port is working well.

With the USB adaptor, is that fitting squarely in the port?

  • Sounds like maybe the CCK to me, were did you get this "genuine" CCK? My 30 pin CCK snaps in just like my Apple charging cables. The non-apple one I've tried almost never snap in right, if at all.

Do you have an USB card reader or camera with USB you can test the CCK with?

I might go get one at an Apple store (I did) just make sure. I've gotten too much counterfeit stuff via Amazon, and other online retailers. Ok if you recognize it, easy to return, but if you don't...

  • Have you tried hooking up the EIE to a Mac or PC?

  • Also have you tried the cck with another interface? Did it work?
