Palmsounds.net just posted a pic from Propellerheads twitter account ... sidekick app for Figure. Been submitted. Any ideas what it will be?

  • FYI - This is not an official Propellerheads app, and they are apparently just as surprised as we are about it.

yeah - i just figured (ha) that out... i thought it was Props twitter, but it's not.

hmmmmm..... submitted 5 days ago, so maybe next week we'll find out.

  • The Design looks crazy!, hope it's a sequencer for figure.

  • That would be dope!

You really should Take... This thread down. There's no Reason... To post stuff like this.

    (so bad, I'm so sorry)

  • Something new FOR propellerheads.

A hand drawn Sector for Figure? Kinda? A bit?

I dunno how devs feel about it, but I like the idea of folks adding on/enlarging/whatever existing thingies.

Nice, it's got shift, which is a feature request I made to the devs a long time ago (and one I'm still waiting for).

By the looks of it I'm fairly sure this app imports figure song data, allows you to do some simple manipulations and then export again.

There are procedures for that. ;)

    What is Figooroo?
Figooroo is an app that can open up to 4* Figure songs at once and:

    • copy instruments, patterns, tweaks (defaults & motions), mixer levels from one song to another
    • join one song with another
    • shift a song with or without wrapping
    • resize a song by trimming/repeating bars or shrinking/stretching them
    • convert rhythms to notes
    • email a song or open it in other Figure compatible app at any time

By alternating between shift, resize, copy and join, you can combine songs in many ways.

Converting rhythms is a very useful function allowing you to alternate between different rhythms in the same song and also slowdown/speed-up a song keeping the rhythm intact.

8 bar songs are too short for you? In Figure you can simulate a 16 bar song by halving the tempo, but the rhythms are also slowed down, making them more or less useless. Now, with Figoroo you can take two 8 bar songs recorded at normal tempo (even with different rhythms), resize each of them to 4 bars and join them together. All you have to do is open the new song in Figure and halve its tempo.

Wanna get those perfect notes in, but the song is too long and you have to wait another 30 seconds for another chance to record them? Why not split the song into pieces, open a piece in Figure, record the notes and then go back to Figooroo to join the pieces together.

Recording really really fast arpeggios is not easy in Figure, but Figooroo can help you achieve that. Record a song in Figure and open it in Figooroo to shrink it to fewer bars, thus increasing its playback speed.

You can also loop certain sections of the song and do many other things that you'll discover along the way.

    • Figooroo has 2 slots (A & B) with each one able to hold 2 songs

    I missed something here.

    I missed something here.

The Take app can now import Figure songs.

  • Hadn't realized until just now what a slating Propellerheads/Figure got post-8 for their new sharing methods. The thing's down to two point something on the incredibly accurate store Rating System of Truth. Should have consulted someone (but it will make for an excellent case study at a B-School near you any day now).

  • Thanks @busker. Did they release some sort of figure song format documentation/sdk? This new app looks to deeply integrate into figure pretty far beyond exporting/importing entire songs.

  • @syrupcore not that I am aware of; I'm guessing the developer just reverse engineered the file format.

  • Video demo of the app:

  • The Official Fool Vote on this video is Not Useful. Desperately needed a voiceover or similar (for those of us who are fools at least...).

  • first impression: looks like a lot of work ... I think I would just rather export loops from Figure and import into a DAW or Loopy, etc. and then build things together that way.

  • @Halftone I actually have a sneaking suspicion it might be cool or useful in an odd or wacky way, but they didn't do a great job of wowing (or making much sense) with the soundtrack they chose as a demo. I hung in as best as I could, but around the four minute mark my earlobes started to sweat.

  • This demo video did not really show anything. I'm feeling cautious about this one. Supposedly it's "In Review" at Apple, so we will soon see.

  • Weird user interface.

Now available in the app store, and it's FREE...

  • Not made it to Texas jest yet....

  • I could not figure this one out. Tried all kinds of exporting options in Figure, but couldn't get this app to import or anything. Someone morer cleverer will figure it out I'm sure

  • It's broken. Per Kalle Paulsson (Propellerheads), it will not work on the current Version 1.7.1. This thing is a dud.

  • From iPad Musician group, re: error message - "You're getting this error message because the app is trying to use private api's in Figure that has been deprecated in the latest version."

  • This is sorta like how you can go to some countries and buy shoes made by Nikee and Adibas.

So, IOW, the Propheads f'd us again?
