New synth from beepstreet coming soon!

Just spotted this over in the comments about Sunrizer AU for OSX. Someone asked about their other new synth and the reply from beepstreet was, "Yup, it's here , I should be ready with this in a few weeks." This is GREAT news!

  • We can only hope this synth is even any where near as epic as the almighty Sunrizer

  • I think (or I have been thinking this past week or so) that Sunrizer might be the great taken-for-granted machine in our synth canon.

I don't think it is taken for granted at all. The new search on this forum does my head in but fortunately I've sent this link to Jarek so was easy enough to find.

  • Weren't they working on a drum synth, based on Impaktor, or something? I seem to recall hearing that, but that was a long time ago!

I agree in some ways, but I still feel it's not the the synth folks reach for and the first page of that thread only sees it mentioned the once. Defensive? Me? Nah....

  • I still wonder what this new synth could be? No hint given and I am not seeing anything about it being drums either. It seems to be a synth.

  • Maybe iSequence HD vs.3?

  • No not Isequence, I am sure of that now and it is definitely not a drum app.

  • When asked to elaborate on what it was the reply from the developer was.
"Something completely different: a simple mono synth. 8x oversampling and exact analogue circuits emulation. I spent a lot of time on SH101, TB303, MS20 and SE Boomstar trying to grasp their particular beauty "

  • MS20 whooo hooo.

  • He posted some examples of the mono synth up on soundcloud last year.

  • If those are just the synths he used for some of the emulations I wonder what neat features this little beast might hold for exploration of those sounds?

  • It is beautiful sounding! The filters are fabulous!! It will likely be the best monosynth on the iPad IMHO. :-)

  • I have yet to hear the audio where did you find this?

  • As mentioned above, it was posted several months ago on his soundcloud page. He tweeted about the work and how it was progressing.

  • Thanks for that!

  • Listening again to the fabulous filter.....This is going to be a knob-tweaker's dream!!! I am so, SO looking forward to this synth!!!

  • Wow that is a lot of preview right there! Awesome!

  • I like the sound of those filters - nothing like an MS20 or SH101, quite unique sounding to my ears

  • Yeah, I don't think he was trying to emulate any particular filter set. I believe he was trying to capture the character that you get with analog filters. So that, while it doesn't sound like any particular synth's filter, it will sound good. :-)

    Mmm, juicy, raw and meaty

  • I can imagine it's not going to be a specific arturia-style emulation. Sunrizer's sound palette is quite broad. I personally think it must be more fun creating something new and unique rather than religiously recreating something that already exist. In fact it must be close to impossible to faithfully recreate all of the nuances of a synth with filters, slopes, and voltage intricacies.

    Hi there,

Indeed it won't be an emulation of existing synth, although it will look somehow close to SH-101 :) - its my fav interface/experience I can't start my day without touching it

    Some more info for curious:

    • single: vco, vcf, eg, lfo .. but don't worry most instruments in the world are single vco+vcf ;) - like your voice, it just needs to be done right
    • several filter models (a few unique + one diode ladder close to 303)
    • analog chorus (like Juno-60) and ring modulation
    • some unique features like: lfo can operate at audio rates, paraphonics etc..

As you see this is not an all-mighty synth like Sunrizer. The goals are simplicity, pleasure of operation and components quality (8x oversampling, audio-rate modulation, analog drif)

It requires the latest gears starting from iPad Air and Mini 2 although I will do my best to support older devices. Just a shitload of computations

Still working on Sunrizer AU then finishing my new baby.
All of my upcoming synths will be multi-platform: Windows/OsX/iOs AU/VST
Sunrizer and Impaktor 2 is in the queue.

    cheers!

  • Great. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

I never use sunriser personally. Dunno why. I know everyone thinks it's amazing. I just never got into.

But Impaktor - OMG - one of the best apps ever for both the sound and the innovation. Impaktor 2 would be awesome.

  • I'm hoping this new 'synth' will also include a built-in step/modulation-sequencer(1-64 steps) that allows automatisation of all parameters with option per parameter to either 'set' on step, or 'interpolate' between steps.

    Yeah, I can always dream...

  • Great news @giku_beepstreet !

I love your apps and can't wait to hear your baby! Also, thanks for looking into support for older hardware. It's a shame that extra work is required but I understand if it's not worth it. Finally, can you reveal if the app will be universal or even have an XS brother like Sunrizer?

Thanks again, looking forward to demos!

  • I like Sunrizer, good for pads.

It'd be good if the new one has options to lower the settings so it'll run on older ipads like mine. An arpeggiator would be good too - I can't get on with the one in Sunrizer so something simple would do me.
